Finally some pan myc!!!
I tried multiple times to germ Hawaii and sandoze with no luck, thought I had Hawaiian myc, but it was just white mold. :/
This time I used some Aussie and some Jams, every plate germed in a week and im finally seeing the same whispy goodness.
I've gotten pretty confident with using blended LI so im probably doing li to pints of wbs then either pancakes or trays in a sgfc.
What size trays do ppl use for sgfcs?

Thank you! Any you recommend? The sub I used was 50% coco and 50% horse shit. Spawn was millet for two tubs and oats for one. Thanks again!

I use store bought cactus mix right out of the bag. It's basically jiffy mix with a very low percentage of fine sand. I just pour boiling water over it and let it sit for a night to cool.
I have tamp cakes that have been fruiting for 2 months now (a flush every few days) that haven't contaminated yet.

It's crazy how much these tamps put out. Third flush pinset on my bag is coming in just as thick as the first two. Just crumbled a couple trays of pan Alabama so hopefully in around 10 days I'll see pins

Wait wait wait.. I recently bought cactus mix to use for casing aswell.
You telling me you do not even use hydrated lime or pasteurize it?
That for sure would make it more convenient!

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he talked about just pouring hot water on the cactus mix not the sand. I read it as the cactus mix is like jiffy mix but with a bit of sand in it?

You are correct. I put it in a cup (I don't need much) but a bucket would work too. Pour boiling water over it and let sit overnight. Scoop out and strain (it will be very wet at this point) and spread as casing.
No lime needed as I think it's already Ph'd.
