best wishes, crackatoa. you probably/maybe will have to keep watering the casing. but wet pins tend to abort, so you gotta get creative.

This is the second transfer of Panaeolus Cyan Jamaica and I have no idea if I'm looking at cobweb mold or mycelium smh.

Depends.
Like Jack says if left wet they abort. But if your setup (like mine) dries fast enough it's not a problem.
If concerned, I've found using a syringe or similar to wet the sub without hitting the pins to be useful.

My setup dries the casing pretty quickly, can I mist gently from a distance still or just use a syringe to be extra careful? Here's one of my McMerdin's cakes, thank you for that tek

Please tell me this looks right. Looks like mycelium to me but I've had so many fails with pans I just want to make sure I'mnot getting my hopes up for nothing.

Seems like pans don't like oats as much as millet. Anyone else notice this?

I've had issues with casing drying and I've been misting it prior to the first flush. I'll switch to syringe from tonight.

can't say about millet, but can say about brown rice. ime, pans fly thru rice, but move like molasses thru oats.

i feel like they're opening a little early, but keep the faith. i've had several do that early on, just to turn around and put out some impressive ones later.
good work, man.

I put pans to oats multiple times, all being failures. I'm just about ready to give pans another go. This time gonna put them on wheat. Will let folks know.
Question, are pan cultures fine to put in the fridge and bring out later? It doesn't stunt them or do anything weird from peoples experience?

MacMerdin pan cakes but without the coffee or worm castings, and whole brown rice instead of flour.

Fuzzy feet. Couldn't turn the humidity down because there were other things in the GH but otherwise they turned out pretty nice. Very happy with the result
Also a tray of grains spawned to pasteurized hmanure/coir/verm.

Didn't get a canopy/ full pinset but maybe the second flush will turn out better.
The 27 qt monotub I posted earlier yielded 6 grams dry from the first flush which seems pretty low but the second flush will be ready to harvest soon. Overall I don't think the monotub is worth repeating. Tiny caps with spaghett stems and they're harder to harvest.
