So this is a dish of pda with Panaeolus Cyanescens from Westmoreland jamaica. The print was 5y.o then transferred into syringe, 1st time with pans how does it look?
Cool! Don't wait too long that looks ready for more transfers put some on a decent inexpensive substrate while transferring it'll put you ahead while waiting on the agar dishes. Make mistakes with the first and have more on the way.
The folds are strange and reminiscent of bacteria in shape but it looks like mycelium to me.

Wish me luck boys and girls. Trying a modified PF Tek from LC as a for shits experiment.

Awesome. Have you guys seen Roger Rabbit warning people against cyans? He says they are the darker and most confusing of all actives.
Thoughts?

I’ve been using RR’s 50/50+ casing mix for a while which calls for 1 tsp of hydrated lime per cup of peat. I’ve had success with this for pans before but recently tried to measure my casings ph using one of those test kits with the dye indicator and white powder. Looks like my casing is off the chart. I had to cut back to 2tsp of lime for 8 cups of peat to get in the 7-8ph ballpark. This is quite far off from RR’s notes so i’m wondering if i’ve gone wrong and should just stick to 1tsp:1cup.

You got a link? Ain't gonna lie...I've always said they scare the ever living fuck out me. At higher doses it can be really sketchy...like one wrong move and you can go off the rails mentally.

all of the most productive and life affirming trips i've had have never been joy rides.
and i'm not gonna lie, i still haven't dosed pans cy due to apprehension over never having two days in a row with nothing i have to do. don't want to go into it the first time at all concerned about how i'll feel the following day.

Just go for it. I have the same fears and then as soon as they’ve kicked in I wonder why I waited so long or was in any way anxious about it. You’ll feel perfectly fine the next day. I find pans to be very consistent - always break through into the same blissful state. If they are overwhelming or making you feel sleepy, just close your eyes and drift away for a bit.

you may be right. but like mb says, everyone's trip is different. i often earn myself a wicked headache the following morning.
the first time, i insist on having that security blanket: "tomorrow, there is nothing i must do." this has done me well thru the years to get comfortable in times of severe, drug induced discomfort. simple precaution.
edited to add: trying a different approach to pasteurizing sub at the moment. lucy, got some spawnin' to do.

IMO cyans are called blue meanies for a reason. I have found bisporus to be my favorite pan.
