Does anyone know what causes that splitting above? I’m guessing maybe too much air exchange or not enough moisture. They’ll probably stall now.

jake displays crackly caps on the reg. i'd wager it's just a sign to up the humidity, or perhaps, lessen the time of lower humidity in the cycle.

Okay I’ll try that. I’m glad to see you though jack. I meant to take some pictures but I deleted them off my phone while waiting for three weeks when the site was down but I have had like three awesome flushes with those Galindoi or atl whichever they were. They just keep trying to go man they won’t stop! And I also dialed them in with the tent. But of course I’ll have to keep them in seperate cycles from the pans as it seems they liked a lot more humidity and did not like frequent air exchanges

great to hear it, man, great work. they certainly are tenacious.
so i ran them side by side with pan cyans without too much negative effect. operate the tent to suit the pans, and mist the fuck outta the stoners once or twice a day. ... but i guess i'm not running cycles the same way, so that may not be enough.. but don't worry, they'll tell you what to do if you listen.

Any ideas of replacements for straw/hay?
Would dried grass clippings suffice?
I want to get some to do comparisons with my current mix but don’t want to buy a bail

Try silaged grass clippings. Works great for me. Just pack them tight into a suitable container, close airtight (but not completely, as gas must be able to escape), and leave in a warm place for 2 weeks. Then mix with the rest of your sub and pasteurize.

If it helps : I bought 4.5 kilograms of straw from Amazon and it's working well with store-bought manure & vermiculite apparently

Yes grass will work however, a pre shredded bale of straw is only $14. A bale lasts me months. I keep it in a big plastic tote out in my shed. Check around for a local horses/cow feed store. They will become your best friends lol. They scout for manure they know I like, they can also order odd items like straw pellets specific grass seeds and grains. Tractor supply has some stuff but and local family owned one will be more accommodating

Looking good, brothers! Don't know those are your first pans, but if so it's a lot better than the 4 fruits I got.

Grass clippings are fine. Cut the yard, rake it up, dry it and use it. Pans love grass. Recently went back to spores and put a bacterial agar slice to grass clippings and the pan culture that was about to be overrun by bacteria out ran the bacteria on straw. Easy way to get clean pan mycelium by using straw/grass clippings.

Wanted to say that I found the straw pellets to kind of suck. Anyone try that with success? I think one of my trays fermented or some shit. Weird smell. The other kicked off pins everywhere and then completely aborted.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about starting back up some pan cyans (had to take a break...long story). One post I read in this thread indicated some problems with commercial prints...which is all I have (one print from a known vendor). I have yet to get mine to fruit, which makes me wonder - could the print be the problem? (honestly, I figure probably not given the difficult nature of these compared to cubes).

A lot of people have problems with commercial prints not germinating. Not sure about the genetics being inferior. I suppose it's possible. I will say asuras prints performed a lot better than a print I received from a vendor
