bumholio, i had some do that. all four little trays wctx put up a bunch of tiny little fruit. they ended up getting better in subsequent flushes, but still fairly small. im saying genetics, since it was all four trays pretty uniformly, and in the same conditions as other trays which were much better by comparison. the actual subs were smaller and started on different grain tho, so it could be other things.

Goood morning !
I'm really happy to show my first Pan Cyan grow experience
It's far from perfect, but I was so eager to have my first pins that I took some shortcuts (iso not perfect (not wispy like Asura's description), probably some contam, misting not perfect inducing side pinning, etc.).
Since I had trouble finding composted manure, I'm testing the "VOILA Cow Manure" that you can easily find at Rona in Canada.
My first try wasn't great, probably because of the sand-like texture.
I'm now trying again with a very aerated substrate (1/3 straw, 1/3 Voila cow manure & 1/3 vermiculite) and here are the results
But the straw is perhaps the reason, not the store bought manure. I'll try without next time, to be sure.
I read that another important factor regarding the store bought manure was : Are they fed with straws or grains ? And it's not a public information
My first two Pan Cyan Estero trays

My 2 out of 3 Pan Cyan Estero cake

Quick experience when I saw all the side pinning

Quick look at my setup : SGFC with auto-misting when I'm away

I'm putting to grain today :
- Panaeolus Cyanescens Hawaii
- Panaeolus Cyanescens Jamaica
- Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero
- Panaeolus Cyanescens Peace River
- Panaeolus Cambodginiensis Sandoz Domesticate
- Panaeolus Tropicalis

Damn, I don't even know where to start.
@Bumholio - f'n nice pinset! Are they still growing in? Or did they stall? Should take 3-4 days to come in.
@Kapn - those plates look perfect! That bama plate in the 3rd pic is awesome.
@Aendir - Hell yeah! Can I haz estero print?
Here I was thinking the thread was dying off and everyone is secretly killing it. Good job ya'll. That kinda pumps me up for my day. Noc'ing up some tropicalis later. My damn pre-sealed bags came out of the PC PERFECT. I'm taking it as a good omen.

Hey guys, I have about a year and half's worth of cube grows under my belt, and I'd like to give pans a try. I think I'm going to use MacMerdin's pan-cakes to start with. Maybe a dumb question, but are Panaeolus cyanecscens strains/varieties the same as cube strains? Meaning, are the differences are mostly marketing? In other words, if I buy Hawaiian pans spores vs. Jamaican pans spores, are they really mostly the same?
(Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I tried searching for the answer, but my search results were mostly about cube strains.)
Thanks for the help.

Thank you Asura !
You bet for the print, I'm truly happy to start giving back ! I'm already seeing spore dropping so it won't be as difficult as the Hoogshagenii aka Semperviva aka subtropicalis (I can send you one print too, and a Jalisco if you want).
