Thanks man!
Managed to get a swab from this big ass cap off the first flush and I got an isolate (or probably a "discreet colony") on one of my streak plates.

Started using this method, Rad Aghast pointed me to for plates and it kicks ass: https://microbeonline.com/streak-plate-method-principle-purpose-procedure-results/
Oh, got all the Gordon Ramsey Agar ingredients arriving tomorrow, too

Soapy water + h2o2 still air box accident dropped AKA fail dropped clone, 1 sterilized tub, into 3 pastuerized straw tubs, successful spawn run, lucky go figure, experimental casing, in addition to 1 with no casing (leaf litter casing tomorrow!).
Why fail? The straw for the spawn run was not tightly packed, there are pockets below the casing which are causing pin mayhem and not the good kind. Bottom pins, side pins, middle pins
no consolidation period. Hopefully it all pushes through, catches up and picks up.
1+ Leason learned, pack straw tightly during spawning.
Edit: looking forward to when/if Poppy B comes back from the stars ; )
Work a dry SAB once; you'll never spray again! I used to just leave mine set up... folded towel down for a better bottom seal, and wire cooling racks to elevate your work

Yeah. Cut the whole thing out of the germ plate and transferred to a fresh one just now.
Luckily I had something, because I want to keep going back to spores for these Aussies and that was my only hope. Looks like a fast mover too. One day from germ to almost the size of dime.

Now a clone would get u to iso much quicker with less risk. I know it’s hard but trust me it’s very doable. I used to get 1 out of damn near 20 that I would attempt, now I usually only make 5 & usually @ Least 2 are clean. Isolating from a print is gonna be a toss up.

I'm operating under the assumption of "the more genetics, the better". It's more of a domestication exercise, really. Like getting an aussie that is just as domesticated as GT. That I could send a print to anyone and they could make the magic happen easily.

I got ya, yeah I do the same thing just a little different. I Clone Fruits with traits that I like. Then once I get a few ISO’s swith different desirable traits I run them and collect prince then breed the prince together and now that I have the venom I directly breed the mycelium on plates. That’s how I got the hausteca to give me prints even tho all my ms trays were damn near sporeless. That’s why you’ve seen me run so many of those trays just hunting for a good genetics. Once I bred the heavier spore producers together I cloned again and mated 2 more heavy spore producers. Finally I got a nice thick prince and as an added bonus it mutated them purple

pretty sure you're just about there, bubba. maybe not quite gt easy, but the aussie you sent me fairly kicked some ass for a first ever pan cy project. and from it, i tried a new approach to cloning. sliced a full cross section of a fuzzy stipe and dropped it on agar. didn't even do it in a sab, since it seemed like a hail mary pass anyway. well two days later...

75mm plate. culture grew out to about 40mm.
meanwhile, the wild tray isn't done. all this time after first pinning, it's now pushing up some new dense clusters.

jake, thanks for your insight into your development processes.
e'rybody else, keep up the good work. it's great to see so many others in here these days.

Wow Jack!
That growth is crazy. You gotta start round 2...like now.
This is so cool to see people starting to have these successes. When me and mary were talking about a year ago we were saying it would happen. And now it is.
I think that once more people are able to try cyans, there will be a BIG effort put forth in growing them. I mean the trips are just epic...like look at Tweeq. His trip 20 years ago was so good he never forgot it

Experience is a boss teacher. I wouldnt go that far.
There are people who know alot more, however everyone has a unique brain with the ability to think for themself. Read some books, read the info here, think of how you can make it work with the materials around you.

Think i finally have some clean mycelium on agar, the spores didn't wan't to germinate on MEA so i injected them in a honey LC and got something that atleast looks like pan cyan myc Is it common for vendor-syringes to not germinate at all? I have the whole list of the "normal" pan cyans and pan cams but only the pan cyan australia germinated, really strange.
Here are some pics of the mycelium Spores->honey LC->agar

Failure plays a big part in the learning process for growing pan cyan. There are certain things you can only learn by doing. I would say there are more people attempting pan cyan now than at any other time on the board. And luckily, much information has been compiled and tested and we know what works and what doesn't work.

Exactly practice makes perfect. You will learn what a health culture should behave like. I could fill a book with the stuff I’ve learned about pans just by growing them since I first started working with them lol. Def do your homework, & save yourself some time & anguish lol

I love the stipes on your pans. Beefy!
I need to figure out a way to get a larger quantity of fresh air into my fruiting chamber. Would also need to figure out how to cycle it as well so my humidity wouldn't get all fucked up.

Build a Jartha lol that tent is by far my biggest advantage in growing pans. I stand by my cycling method 100%. It’s important to have your timing right. If possible I recommend getting digital repeat cycle timers so you can exactly time your intervals
