Hey, appologies for not skimming this entire thread, I did search it:
I just set up an ultrasonic greenhouse with an extra air stirring fan according to violet's setup, and I was just curious if the mist would cause aborting? Some sort of MSG (monotub shotgun hybrid ala doc_T) configuration, I take it I have to stop misting when the pinset comes in, then dunk afterwards.
Just got a Pan Cyan Jam print, and I live in that shitty place where such a thing is extremely exciting.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Ok Ill throw it on PDA. I think this is third transfer.
It looks clean just slow. Does it look straight for a pan culture?

That's true dedication dude!
I hope your first try at pans works out. I got started with agar like 2 months ago, now I have 7 jars almost fully colonized. The biggest thing with pans is patience during every step.

Yeah, it looks normal..Keep transferring though. I personally wouldn't put that onto any grains yet. Shoot for the perfect circle

OK well all of my containers are producing weird tiny fruits... Like 1/4 inch tall with open caps. Hundreds of them! Only one container produced a couple of normal looking fruits. I put an aquarium bubbler into my fc but I just can't seem to get these pins to survive! Here's the container that seem to be putting out a couple of keepers

I just wish I could dial that fc in a bit better or just figure out what the weakest link in the chain is...

I don't see hundreds of fruits in that pic. How many fc's do you have?

Are you using a properly constructed SGFC ? (1/4" holes every two inches in a grid pattern, on all six sides, with 5-6" damp perlite on the bottom.)

Ha ha well those are the only fruits that were decent. Out of 6 containers... All the other ones are just putting up tiny little guys. Just short, fat, little pinny guys that dry down to a pin head... That fc is one of my old monotubs with polyfill. Perlite in the bottom and an aquarium gubbler in a container of bleachy water... I was thinking of a sgfc but it's dry here. Really dry, and I didn't think I could keep a sg from drying out. I have no room in my grow space for any more rigging (ie: ultrasonic, martha etc) so I'm trying to just find something that works. I'm going to hit up a few more containers in a week or so. This time I will try the jiffy casing layer and do you think building a sgfc would make the difference here? Thanks for the pointers! And thanks taGyo, I wish I could get them all to look like those ones...

A SGFC will work in a dry environment, just make sure to keep that perlite nice and damp. Make sure to keep up with the misting/fanning, and you should see a lot more pins popping up. And ease up on the misting once you see pins start to form.
And yeah, a jiffy casing layer would be great for pans or regular cubes.

not sure what an aquarium gobbler is but i dont think we want bleachy water being used near any live mycelium

Yeah, no need for it. If your bulk sub is fully colonized, then don't stress out about keeping things "extra clean". Fruting is not a sterile process.
