What's your take with them and Milo? I have 25# of that sitting around that I have no idea what to do with

Yeah that would work I would still keep oats low around 20%

I've been using milo exclusively but I wouldn't say
that I was happy with it. I am planning on switching to
straight millet bc I discovered the feed store in town
has it. Got an RGS experiment going on now as well. My
theory is small grains will get me more noc points for
the same amount of nutrition.

^ you correct asura but you will find straight Millet can be a pain. It can be difficult to break up and it’s a much smaller window for perfect grain hydration with without you will get a lot of stalls having the larger grains mixed In Works like little hydration packs for ur culture lol

Yeah millet is more difficult in jars for sure but I'm just adding to my sub and sterilizing in bags. I don't even prep grain.

Oh yeah that’s right you go straight to LC and hit pre-sealed bags don’t you, yeah for that Millet will prolly work really well. I have a few bags of lib cap bulk I’m going to hit (actually I already hit several with LC I’m also gonna hit sum with colo grain)  that way. Some have grass seed cut in other have grass seed and some Millet (among a bunch of other stuff)

So... I had this exact idea. I wanted to do master jars with tiny grains for extra inoculation points, then dump them into whatever (Oats mostly). The point was to speed up G2G. When I was at the feed store last in spring I got really excited when I saw they had Milo on their charts. I asked for 25#, they brought it out and loaded it into the car, WOOT right?

Then I got home and realized that I wanted Millet and I thought that's what I was getting when I bought the milo... hence 25# I don't know what to do with.

Use it to grow cubes. Find hamloafs no soak Tek for it.
Works great.

Is it stupid that I would rather just keep using oats because I know how to prep them? I mean, it was literally $7 worth of Milo, I don't feel super compelled to do anything with it

@SD Not stupid at all. If I have something dialed in, I'm gonna need a good reason to
switch things up. Totally get it.

Have some Aussie coming in hot. Hard to tell from the pic, but there are micro pins everywhere.
May not get a full canopy, but at least everything is distributed nicely around the tray. Unlike
those damn bamas!

dammit, asura. i was all excited to post:

... now it just feels a bit anticlimactic.

shaperdreaming, these were from oats, and a pretty high spawn ratio. and they took for fucking ever to get here from spores.

i reckon i'll be cloning and printing some of these.

I'd be excited too. Are those your first ever pins?

You should see if you can clone one of those big ones and get some prints you
can take back to agar.

first ever, in 2014, aborted almost instantly. then nothing. then i quit.

all right, i'll reach for clones and try to print tonight.

is there benefit to taking spores back to agar? does this develop the genetics somehow? genetics is still a bit over my head.

Mine too. I just feel like I am "domesticating" them somehow when I go back to prints

The tray above was started from a print of the biggest fruit on my last Aussie grow. So the genetics
I like are in that print...somewhere. I just want to see what happens if I keep doing this
over 10 grows or so.

That is exactly what domestication (artificial selection) is.

You will see faster results by keeping the environment as similar as possible and continuing to only print (and use spores) from fruits with your selection criteria. If you don’t see what you want in a generation, go back to spore. Never push forward on a generation with a less than desirable fruit, you can create a genetic bottleneck.

Here is my iso tray I’m about to print

And here is my ms pan cam indo tray in same tent put in at same time. I’ll take some clones & then then next tray will be much better  so don’t be discouraged ur well on ur way
