Fogger 3min on 10 min off

Start your fan on the 2 min mark after your fogger comes on that will create a repeating cycle.
Although I doubt your fan is as powerful as the bathroom fans you may need to adjust from my parameters to fit your equipment

Thanks for the cycle spec, I will adjust the frequency of my set up.

One more question: how do you judge your trays are fully hyrdrated?

Thank you again

How is it going with those hanging substrate bags of yours?
I was thinking about doing my first bags like that after your write up today or tomorrow.
Would be nice to hear how it is going?
As Im writing this I realiza that maybe you need time to tell tho...

Worked great. I'm going to do that every time now. They've been colonizing for 4 days
now and everything looks good.

That's what I wanted to hear!
Now the question is.. You think it would work even without hanging the bags or is that a must?

I do not have wbs or the grain you used only rye and oats so I will have to try and use those. If I have success I think it be a good idea to add that it works (or not) with those also:takingnotes:

EDIT: Got home and the bags are in the PC right now.
I followed your write-up to the T. But I got 2000g of substrate even tho I only did half of your recipe. Very strange. I have a Kelway so I needed to put a little bit of extra water to get it to 64% moisture content. Because I will use 60ML LC per bag (I did 2) hoping the last 60ml will bring it to 65%.

I got a question tho. Would it not work if I do not hang the bags you think?

And, when I did my coir for my cubensis and Tamps last time ( worked great, the substrate ) I used my Kelway moisture tester also and aimed for 65% moisture content here also, but with COIR/VERM when its at 65% I can squeeze real hard and get a few drops out from the substrate but at 65% with the hpoo/verm/straw mix I couldnt get a single drop out?

Is this because they hold different amounts of water or whats up?

You dont NEED to hang the bags. The purpose for hanging the bags is just to allow the air back into them faster, and it helps them cool a bit faster. When bags pre-sealed this way are taken out of the PC they are very compressed because air has been evacuated from them. The filter patch is usually pressed up against the back wall of the bag so air cant enter the bag. Hanging the bag pulls the walls of the bag taut so that air can enter thru the filter.
If you can free up the filter patch some other way then that will work too. Air wants to get into the bag anyway- "nature abhors a vacuum".

One nice thing about getting at least a little air in the bag is that it will be easier to fluff up the substrate. It can get a bit compacted during PC'ing and I like to break it all up before I inoculate it.

Also, you're going to inoculate through the bag. You want to avoid going thru the other side with the needle and you also want to spread the inoculant around a bit - again, more room is better.

Thanks Jake! I really appreciate your generosity with your time. I have yet another question.  You mentioned somewhere that the RH should stay around 88. Is that during the resting period of 10 minutes or at the peak of the misting cycle with it falling considerably lower for that 10 minute resting period after the fan?

88 is the Rh I give people who are not cycling. The RH is going to fluctuate greatly when you cycle what you want is to keep an eye on your trays and make sure that any moisture being added to your trees by the system is evaporated in on the second half of the cycle if you start to get water build up in your tray you need to cut back on your fogger or crank up ur fae or temp depending

Idk if its clear from these pics but we got more pins now. The initial cluster went black.

Wish I was here during the day to be able to mist and fan more. The overlay tray has more than caught up with the other one. Pics when my phone is recharged

Fanning does not generate FAE the only purpose for Fanning is to re-distribute the mist right after you spray.  but if you have pins you should not be spraying. Once the pens appear if you must hand water do so with a syringe and water around the base of the mushrooms do not get them wet they will turn black and die.
Here’s my pinset, pins first appeared 2.5 days ago

A couple of bags of Bama five days in. These are some of the best looking bags I have
ever had...so here's hoping.

Pan Cambos direct inoculation bags ala Mary's Alabama grow.  They were put in the trays and this is three days of recovery.

I'm now at 5 days recovery and they look very much the same including that suspicious non-colonized corner.  Case and fruit time or wait a few more days?

If it were me, I'd case and fruit. I think they look great. Not sure what is
going on in that corner, though.
