Asura said: Yep, seal before PC and injected with LC later. I like this way because it doesn't require a flow hood. I have one, but not everyone does so it's nice to have a way to share that doesn't require it.
It also solves a paradox - which is why spend 4 hours sterilizing substrate only to open it up and perform an open air inoculation. You def have more control over what enters a sealed bag from a sterile syringe than what enters an open bag in front of a laminar flow bench IMO. Even better - seal it, sterilize it, then inoculate the sterile sub with LC using a sterile syringe/needle in front of a laminar flow hood.
@ Tweeq - you don't need an impulse bar sealer to hermetically seal a mycobag. All you need is your wife's clothes iron and a piece of parchment paper folded in half. Works like a charm. Use an old/torn bag to practice a few times to get the timing/pressure down.

If you buy one spend a Lil $ don’t get the cheapest. Nothing worse than a crappy sealer that eats up your bags

Regarding pre-sealing of grow bags. This bit of information from this vendor website was how I got started pre-sealing bags:
These bags are not intended to be sealed before sterilization, however they can be successfully "pre-sealed" before sterilizing if all excess air is removed from the bag, excess bag material is neatly folded around the bag, and the bags are allowed to cool slowly and completely before removing them from the sterilizer.
https://www.shroomsupply.com/mushroom-grow-bags/mushroom-bags-w-injection-ports/large-mushroom-grow-bag-w-injection-port-05-micron-filter?zenid=cvdaolopnfjtqdllbibbsuujf5
I have done it this way many times with 0.5um and 5um filter patch bags. I have had no problems; its way easier, cleaner, safer than sealing the bags after sterilizing. The important thing is to push out the air before sealing and let the PC cool on its own before opening.

Yeah your asking for contamination there.
Mary pulled off some awesome trays with swab to lc though.

Nice Rad!
Keep an eye on those trays early on to make sure they aren't taking on water and ensure your getting the evap you need.
Excited for you!

I'm so glad that I found this thread. I am about to case and put into a Martha. Do you stop the humidifier once the pins can bee seen through the casing? How often do you let the fan run in there. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

No do not stop the humidifier. Some maintain a approx 82-88rh after pinning I cycle my humidity but my method is a lil different the tek is in sig. it’s all about maintaining a high level of evaporation on ur surface

My casing says moist for 48 hours until they need a little misting? Is the rate to slow you think, Jake?
Doesnt matter if I open up the door to the GH. Still needs misting in the same timeframe.

Yes! Pans are pinning!

(Right hand side, near the edge)
Not too many yet but we got some pins. I'm so excited. Thought it wasn't going to happen anymore with these first trays.
And for sure it wouldn't have happened without all of y'all's info and tips. Especially Asura, many thanks.
We know we're not there yet. We're getting there
Cheers guys

How would a quart muda bottle be any different than using a bag? If anything it will be less sub. This would be sterilized in a PC... am I missing something?

i reckon it would be about the same if it was sterilized. i missed that part, my bad. but then, you'd have to shake the bottle after dropping grain in. i've had bad experiences shaking those bottles. the seal isn't bombproof, and shaking hard can suck contaminants inside. this one jar ended up smelling just like rotten orange juice. delicious. anyway, sounds like it could work, just be careful on the shake.
