*sigh* I was replying to this. I'm just saying they're not doing g2g or LC2grain. They're doing LC2sub. That's it.

Lc2sub with grain inside(inside spawn bag)
:douchewink:

using colonized spawn or comparitive amounts of lc to inoculate said bag.. would probably take the same amount of time.

Your making it sound like they are injecting poo trays with lc.

It does take about the same amount of time I’ve ran them side-by-side dozens of times now. G2B usually is ready for FC 3 days earlier (recolonization time)
If I had to cast a vote though I would say pasteurized grain to bulk is the more efficient way to go I get more flushes as the pasteurized trays live longer. Direct LC May be a little safer to get something but ime g2b gives you more over all but you gotta make good spawn and that can be tricky but once you got a solid spawn formula it’s better imo

Quoting for posterity! Ok, fuck it then. LC will remain a side project for shit's and giggles.

Plan is to run like this: Spore->Agar->Grain->Muda bottles (cuz I can't do bags yet  ) ->Fruit

For fruiting, should I take the sub out of the bottles, break it up, then let it recolonize, and then case? This seems to be what is happening with the bags, so I'm checking in. Alternatively I could fruit out of the muda bottles, but that seems pretty limited surface area.

Depends are u sterilizing or pc? I spawn my gran to bulk right in the tray then cover let colonize then fruit. Nothing wrong with doing a couple LC bags along with it. See which works best for you. I like making spawn. I like being able to monitor the cultures growth the entire way thru.? But I’m also making more LC bags today ( lib caps & pans)

You gone crazy there jake? If not then... :takingnotes:

And, I'm just using a PC. One of my main problems with expanding my mycology hobby is space, so my experiments tend to be a bit on the slow side since I can only run so many things at the same time. I run this all and live in a 500sf studio apartment. I make do.

my understanding is subs ought to be pretty thin because of the risk of anaerobic bacteria taking hold and causing a literal stink due to sub being overly compacted. makes me think trying to colonize bottles of non-sterilized sub before sorta re-spawning would be in that high risk area.

So we been talking about pan prep here is how I prep my LC sterile bags and my pasteurized bags super fast and easy.
I made all these in about 2 hours

Last night while tripping, we had our house's heat system failing. Yay.. It was already too cold in my growspace for pans but this didn't help either. Dropped to about 15C in the night. The guy just fixed it. Glad I was on mushrooms or I would have been stressed out pretty bad

GH was out of stock where we ordered so the search for a fitting one starts again. Maybe I'll fruit the next batch in our closet growspace, where we have more temp control. But atm it's already stuffed with projects in the making. New lc to sub bags are colonizing as we speak. As said we keep on it untill we got this. And then some more

Our trays atm

Trays are from the same day..

Why stress out over some temp drop? Pans can fruit at even like 10°C if they have to. In nature at least.

Update of my special Pan sub - almost fully colonized:

Nah not too worried now. It's just my noobyness in all this. I've only got a few cube grows experience. Matter of fact my first spore to fruit are now maturing (PE6). Did three growkits, 2 cube and one pans a respawn of a growkit and grew a clone from the first kit out. Second flush is incoming. First flush has run through our systems last night

Maybe I worry too much. I just want to do it right as much as I can.

@Tweeq, Keep at it my friend!

To the quest of my friends here!

I had 2 quarts of Pan Alabama spawn.
Spawned to 4 trays in total, with 1/2 qt of spawn in each tray (4 trays in total)

Only 2 trays are now colonizing, and they are both from different spawn jars?
So how could that be? Substrate moisture is the same in all trays.

If the 2 trays from the same spawn jar only colonized I would understand that something most likly is up with 1 out of the 2 spawn jars. But when 1 trays of each fails and 1 of year jars trays colonized perfectly, Im confused?

I did not misslabel them they are from different spawn jars.
If anyone could shine some light on this, please do :takingnotes:

But in an indoor grow, right before pinning, not so much. I've had an entire grow ruined because of temp drops like that.
It might fruit, but probably not well.

Not saying that will happen here, just that it's happened to me and others.

Ok, today I am trying my luck with pre-sealing my spawn bags and seeing if they will survive
a 4 hour PC. If it works, I'm switching methods. If not, I'll just put the sub in new bags
and try again!
