Jake is officailly the Scat Man
The reason I ask if I can sub is because Blue Helix only says "poo" for his work. It's old af info tho. Should I do like 65% black kow and 35% straw?

Do you wait until then mycelium has covered the surface completely and then call it good and case it? or do you wait a set amount of time regardless of the visual condition?
I have a tray of pan cy HI I crumbled yesterday and the whole thing has completely recovered in one day - top to bottom. I'm just wondering if it were yours would you case it now or wait a few days?
I just wait 5 days and if it looks good I fruit it. I have some pan Hawaiian going right now, though, that looks like it's holding on for dear life. I'm going to let that go longer to see if things start looking better.
If it's recovered, I say go for it.

Oh it will dry out all the way before I prep it for Pasteurization this is just to cook it to get it to proper quality. Still a few months off from using as bulk 😉

But I will still only cut that in at 35% most of the rest of my substrate is shredded straw. I actually did a lot of work on my pool today I added about 300 pounds of black cow and 600 pounds of horse, I already had a decent pile of Dairy and free range beef poo. Once I got it all mixed up really well I soaked it with water using the jet spray to bore water tunnels into the pile all the way around tomorrow out in the hot sun this will evaporator effectively creating a steam cooker speeding up the process at which I achieve optimum poopy-ness

That's a nice pile!

Two pan-HI subs. On the left is grains spawned to pasteurized sub. On the right is LC used to inoculate sterile sub (DI). Same sub recipe for both. The grain sub was spawned 2 days earlier than the DI but the DI is killing it. I'm going to case the DI in the next 24 hrs and perhaps the grain sub as well if it doesn't consolidate any more.
Feeling hopeful for one of these. The DI sub def looks strong right now.

So far between Mary and Blue Helix I've only found one grow where Mary used grains versus LC. Seems like LC is the way to go, gud thing I've been fucking around with learning how to do that. Going to do side-by-side grain and LC, the grain will be insurance if I suck at LC still by then

g2g and lc 2 grain take about the same amount of time.
but 400ml of lc will inoculate way more jars than 400ml of grain.

Agreed - in the midst of my first LC experience with Pans following Mary's Alabama grow (LC > sterilized substrate bag). I'm getting much faster colonization (and recovery) time. I don't know if it's the sheer volume of spores being put to substrate, the sterilized sub, or if the culture's all hopped up on sugar or something, but I don't care. Next test will see if I'm able to get my first pan fruits out of this.

When I first started I made LC's of everything that I had. Fucked up a few grows and gave up on it. Just got back into it again a few weeks ago now that it's so big in the pan thread.

Yeah, no, but Blue Helix and Mary remove grains from the mix and put them in the substrate, as this robot below said:

Blue Helix's Panaeolus Cambodgeniensis Grow LC->Sub BH Pan Cyan Viet LC->Sub BH Pan Cyan Ausi LC->Sub
Mary's Panaeolus cyanescens Washington County Texas Print->Agar->LC->Sterile Substrate->Trays->Fruiting Conditions Mary's Pan Alabam Print->Agar->LC->Sterilized substrate bags->Two trays->Recovery->Case & fruit Mary's Pan Cyans spore print->Liquid culture-> Sterilized substrate-> Trays-> Recovery-> Case & Fruiting.

As you may have noticed... I'm doing a lot of research. Any other grows/teks to add to my list of research if you have it would be awesome!
