I Know I'm gonna get fried for this but I e read that pan mycelium grows stronger when manure is added to the mix.

Update on Pan Cyans from wild print.
Pins are coming in again already as expected. I'll get two half canopies I'm assuming. Here's a couple pics. 2nd gen from wild print limited MS isolate.

Two other Isolates are tested as well and both are performing identical even down to pinning within a day of each other. One was spawned 3days later as well. That's the prime one my partner is cloning for me to test.
He's great with lab sterile work and genetics stuff, I grow out a lot of beautiful plates he gives me. I do a lot of agar work as well but for my personal collection mainly. I have a minifridge with isolated or limited MS growth filled to the brim with psilocybe/Panaeolus species. Almost all of it is from mushrooms I've found or had prints sent to me by friends/was gifted by people as well. A hundrrds of hours in front of the hood in that little thing.
PS: started over 60 quarts total between the following 4 species for a giant outdoor/naturalization project. Going to be doing 3 quarts a week of each all winter from here on out as the goal. P.azure, P.semi, P. Caerulipes, and P. Stunzi. Going to try to trade some of these pan prints for a couple things in lacking and want to introduce to MI like baeos and ovoids. Look out for a giant grow log in a month or so. I will be potting a couple quarts of each as well for my yard.

it would work fine in the agar but not needed by any means, i see great growth on a=every normal recipe and when i did try manure water n the recipe it just made my agar darker

Well I'm glad to hear they aren't ruined from that little mishap. How long is it usually until you see germination with pan Spores?

No problem dude
And next time make sure to add only one drop in the center of the agar dish. Too much will cause little puddles to form and that'll slow down germination until it evaporates off.
My last pan cyan plates, I sterilized some Q-tips and swiped the center of the dish with it. I only added a drop to the very tip and lightly pressed it on the agar. I saw some growth within the first week.

BigGreenMat said: Since I live in the city I don't have good access to manure and would like to avoid using it. What would Pan Cyans and Pan Cambo Goliaths grow best on instead. I was thinking of just using 1/2 quart pp5's to start and hoping to use agar inoculation, but I could attempt LC if it is preferable. Really interested in getting some fruit sooner rather than have separate bulk spawning and such, but in the future would be ok using it. Can anyone point me in the right direction for not using manure?
Coir/verm/and straw would work pretty well. Make sure you pasteurize properly. Straw can be a huge vector for contams if sterilized.
Don't work with LC's just yet. They have a bad rep for contaminating easily. Making a LI would be a lot easier and growth rates would be really fast!
What I don't understand is why people mess around with blenders to make LI when you can just put sterile water into colonized grain, shake it, and draw it back into the syringe. (I believe I have a link to a tek in my sig)
Perhaps I'm confused about the difference between LC and LI, or overlooking some advantage of the blender method.

How the hell do you have time do do anything else?!
BTW guys, my pan jars aren't colonixing for some reason, its been 2 days, and no white is showing, I only used a piece of a 70mm plate per jar, I wanted to space it out. Im thinking maybe I shook the jars too hard/much, not sure how different pans are from cubes.

all these species leave you with is time, once it hits grains most of these will take well over a month just to colonize a qt, some over 2 months

For me, the agar takes up so much fucking time, every other day im cooking up and doing transfers for hours. Then spawning tubs, cooking grains, and everything, shit is ridiculous.
