Look at this pic. This is 3 days after 1st pins.

Does this look like bis?
Whatever it is, it is pinning slowly. I thought I had aborts but they are getting a little bigger each day.
That looks like my Bisporus pins
It's also been very slow at every stage. I assumed it was just my culture but maybe not.

Definitely bisporus. Seems the second flush is always stronger.

I hope the second flush is better. I had a few mature fruits today. They're about an inch tall. Bummer.

Yeah, it’s weird how those first bis come in all weak and small and then the second wave comes in normal.

I guys, I inoculated my first tamp and Pan grains on the 14/04. (With agar, tigerdrop) is it normal for Pans to grow a bit slower then cubensis or tamps on grains? I know they colonize substrates very fast. But ist common for pans to colonize grains a bit slower? Its oats btw.

dropped some pan cy agar to oats last week. they're all slow as hell. my reasoning is they're less comfortable in the chill of the basement than the other species. thinking of warming them to see if it makes a difference.

For what its worth, when I grew bisporus by PF tek they pinned at 8 days and were matured ~4 to 5 days later. When I grew them by Spawn to Bulk they pinned at 10 days but matured very slowly. I'd say just be patient with them, they may continue to put out more fruit.

I don't know mary, so far my whole bisporus experience has been that these are not very fun to grow. I got the print for this grow from 36fuckin5 in a giveaway and I think the genetics are just...bad. I still have the print you sent me and I'm going to put that to agar and try one more time.

Pans. are slow on oats in my experience and the mycelium is fine and wispy. Wild bird seed is a little better but someone else can probably suggest something else that is better.

Wispy mycelium is what you want. On the grows I've done using grain spawn, which aren't many I admit, good old rye did the trick really well.

I got bisp germed on agar now (thanks Mary!) I’m gonna do some isolating then I’ll get on grain probably in the next ten days. I try not to do too much agar work with a culture until I’m working with a clone. Making more dishes now for transfers and a TON on cleaning and organizing. Also go more cordy jars to make (I hit a run last night) these look sooo much better! 2 tsp of grain is what u want not 1/4 cup as recipe recommended. Also I went to the dispensary and got 10 g of 80% THC cartridges (forbidden fruit) (normally would cost 1grand) for $400!!! Happy 420!!!! What are y’all working on?

I need some help ya'll. I have my pan write up in my journal. Even though it's not finished, I think I can release it soon and update it as needed.
My problem: it's private in my journal. Is there a way I can show it to a few people for peer review without making it public?

I have had horrible luck at my pan spawn on oats so far. And it seems to line up with what others are saying. It is slow as Christmas and comes out bacterial.
Rye is easy enough to get in small amounts without freaking over the price. Gonna keep some around from just the Pans until the flow hood gets built….Then can start using bags...

nice. how long did that take to grow out to that size, if you had to guess?
rye from the organic grain bins, yeah? people food?
last week i think i put six wedges to oats at the same time as some rustywhyte cultures, which are also pretty slow. they're only just now jumping off the agar. the rw is a bit further along.
thanks everyone.

Ha, yeah, people food. Some natural food places will give you a discount if you order a whole bag. There are drop shippers too if you want at least a full bag. If not, just get like 5-10 pounds from the bins.
My Pan Aussies are the slowest culture I have.
