Almost finished with my gh, just have to get some hose for the humidifier. I based this off Jakes green house. Thank you very much for the tips

Only difference is I put 2 small fans on the lower sides instead of one in the back.

Hey girl. As an electrician I have to say that having a light bulb like it looks like you have there in such high RH is a big No No. You might be fine for years but you might also have a fire, so please put it outside the GH. Im very new also but Im pretty sure they will still get enough light.

Oh and if you can how come you have your RH at around 85-93 and not try for a vi higher? Not nessesary?

Me? The light bulb is actually my heating element. The lights I have in there are super low energy LEDs, and I doubt they'll be a problem.

So, after doing a bit of looking around I'm looking into this fan with this for a repeat cycle timer. Do these look like sound purchases?

I have Hawaiians going still - but I haven't been able to get them to fruit yet. Its been a steep learning curve. I've been propagating the same myc for months and now I think its starting to age. Its just slowing way down both in LC and after I innoc to the substrate. So I'm starting over with newly germinated myc. Man if you can get your pan-HI to fruit I will be impressed. It has been a real struggle for me. I have a couple other var's on deck if this last run fails.

Did you have it laid to trays already? If you have passed the fruiting window on pans (like say 10 days without
pins), I have found it helpful to autopsy the substrate.

When my tropicalis aborted, for instance, I learned that my sub had dried out even though my casing layer was
pretty wet. When my first round of bisporus failed, I found out it was too wet. I had a failed pan alabama tray
that smelled a little like ammonia (which is common over a long period).

It's been a big help for me as far as dialing everything in.

Yesterday, for instance, I noticed a little water build up in the bottom of my bisporus trays. I cut the humidity
down, kept the temps up and today I have pins. Little adjustments can get you there sometimes.

Good luck on those Bisporus Asura! Hopefully you can show me what they're 'supposed' to look like.

Slightly related. I have a ksss box that turned out wet, stalled. Bumped up the FAE for a few days and bam I've got pins. Probably won't be impressive but nice to salvage what may have been trash.

i got this one. half the price, and can be used for lots of different things in other modes. doesn't have that light sensor, tho. and it's less intuitive. don't lose the manual.

Pan cyan (from wild print) on agar
Ps cyan on oats/wbs
Ps caerulescens on agar
Gymnopilus purpuratus or dilepis (not sure which) grains colonized and transferred to 50/50 oak shavings/paper sub which is colonizing.
Ps hoogshaganii (semperviva) on agar (1st attempt to fruit was unsuccessful so trying again)

and just to keep things ticking over:
APE, PE & PE6 all on agar, on grains or spawned.
Red boy on agar

Hey guys,

So these were inoculated with (only) 30ml of Pan Ogre Boy LC. And I (too) carefully crumbled them maybe a week ago. Should I do that again with this bag (the other one looks just like it)?

One side and bottom side are colonized, the other side is completely uncolonized.

What are your thoughts guys?
Any input is appreciated

Yep in trays already. Honestly the problem with this last run is that they never recovered after laying to trays. I'll give em a couple more days and then perform autopsy as you suggested.

The procedure I used was crumbling the colonized sub in the bag, cutting off the top and pouring into the trays (trays were wiped with IPA prior). I put a cover on the trays and put into the fruiting chamber to recover. Never did.

I've been propagating this particular myc for about 4-5 months now and I'm worried its just worn out. Have others noticed decreasing vigor (senescence) with pans? Anyway, I started over from spores yesterday.

Side question - has anyone ever tried fruiting pans on a straight grain sub? I've had success with this approach on cubes (when I had extra grain). I just cased a fully-colonized  oat-only sub yesterday and its the best looking tray I've ever had so far.

So I this last run of tray last I ran several grain inoculated sterile bulk sterile bags and ran several of my pasteurized trays. In the past I have not noticed a whole lot of difference in contamination rates (sterile slightly higher but not much)  now this is with ideal manure (fully aged and sun dried) now in the spring the manure piles are still pretty fresh and it’s quality will improve as the summer goes on. So right now my manure is not ideal (my spawn on this last run was not the best either) anyway with sub par manure the pasteurized trays did much better! I’ve now lost just about every sterile tray (6)
And only 2 pasteurized. Now this could just be a isolated situation, and hopefully the manure is better looking when I go back to the feed store today so I won’t have to re create lol. Anyway just keeping y’all updated on what I’m finding

I have just noticed something. My Bisporus on Wheat always noved very slowly. And recovery after shaking was ultra slow. Now I have one in Rye jar, and after a shake it recovered FAST!

What the heck is going on?

My experience is that bisporus moves a lot slower than pans...but maybe I don't even have bisporus

Look at this pic. This is 3 days after 1st pins.

Does this look like bis?

Whatever it is, it is pinning slowly. I thought I had aborts but they are getting a little bigger each day.
