Back up to T4 then spawned oats Just under a month ago. 6 shoeboxes with varying ratios and sub combos trying to figure out what they want without setting up a Martha. This one is 1:1 pasteurized Black Kow with a handful of verm, 1.5" sub. Cased with pasteurized Jiffy mix after 10 days. Fruited 7 days later in a 56 quart HC rigged with a very small 30/15 minute cycle air pump/humidifier. Wasn't sure I'd get anything at all so I'm pretty happy to be in the pan club. Still have new pins popping up and no aborts so I must be getting it half right.

Awesome!! Keep up the good work and good luck!

Great job!
Thanks man, as far as I know I’m the first the only pics on the internet I’ve been able to find are the ones Alan took when he collected the print. We’re not even convinced it is a pan cyan he, “thinks these are Panaeolus cyanescens due to the spore size, but DNA analysis is pending and might reveal cryptic species previously unknown.” Here is a link to the original find and microscopy. https://mushroomobserver.org/340923

Jake- thats a great job! You be kicking it! They look nice - I want to hear about the all important fruiting conds if I ever get the time to ask. Can I get a print, Ohh pretty please!
Thank you Mary and I would absolutely love to have an in-depth conversation with you about fruiting conditions!!!! Name a time and place an it’s a date😉 and of course you may have a print!Quote:

Thanks Jake. Casing is Jiffy seed starter mix. For those that don't know it's basically Peat Moss with a little Perlite, verm and Lime.

I'm a pan groupie. Today did some g2g of Hawaiians, put Aussies to grains. More Jams and Hawaiians to agar. Probably won't do my next spawning for another 2 weeks.
But will keep attempting until something happens.

damn, rickyswamps. got some projects runnin.
i just made some pan cyans transfers. aus and unknown wild prints. big woop.
jake, you still running that O2 concentrator? how dramatic would you estimate are its effects on your project success?
just thinking out loud here: i'm getting the sense that on the scale of indoor fruiting difficulty, a spectrum exists with cubes on one side, pan cyans toward the other side, stone producers somewhere in the middle. i'm trying to fruit some galindoi now. could it be assumed that if galindoi is happy, pans would also be happy?

Anyone else see this with pan bisporus? I've been waiting for the caps to flatten out to harvest and print but maybe that never happens? Caps have always had some discoloration but now these bigger ones are getting really dark. Are they mature or could they be aborting? I'm new to the pan scene. I do very lightly mist with an ultra fine mister when it gets dry. For perspective these caps are about the size of a dime.

Well the Martha is not 02 in Riched but the tubs were the mushrooms were taller in the tub’s and thicker in the trays but they were also different I suppose I didn’t catalog the effects of the O2 condenser like I wanted to I just have so much going on it got placed on a back burner and eventually turned off I should try and catalog some information on it though I said I would. The stoners don’t require or can’t take I should say the amount of evaporation pans can you will start to fry them. Tamps and the like are quite easy to fruit however keeping those fruits happy and healthy until they reach their full potential size is quite tricky as they like different things at different stages of growth. This is all just my personal experience and none of it is proven fact so don’t quote me on this or anything but in my experience they like things a little wetter when they are small around 90 our age as they grow they don’t like quite as much moisture in the air as they will get heavy and fall over and wil this is all just my personal experience and none of it is proven fact so don’t quote me on this or anything but in my experience they like things a little wetter when they are small around 90 our age as they grow they don’t like quite as much moisture in the air as they will get heavy and fall over and wilt. However you also cannot let the casing dry out or they will fry from the ground up and the caps will shrivel. so you can do either hand water with a needle or run cycles of heavy fog that you didn’t suck down into the trays with a fan to quickly rehydrate the substrate but not exposing the fruit to prolonged excess humidity. also when you pick them if you twist and push down then sharply pull up they will come right up every time with nothing attached it kind of works with pans also but not quite as perfect.

That’s a very good analogy Lol. Although dogs are more work as puppies and pans are easy on grain however dogs get better with age but pans become more difficult later on in their life cycle lol I harvested and picked a few more Hausteca today. I am still figuring out what they like they don’t like quite as much humidity as the Australians do so they are looking a little wilty But I think I got it figured out for the next flush. Also have a few more MS trays on deck.

Do you not mist them they are done harvest some get bigger than others you can tell when it stops growing though the more you work with them the better you will get at this but I can tell from a very early pin approximately what size the full fruit will be. Just keep growing just keep growing
