This is just an idea. But with that type of mycelium, maybe it would benefit from a thick substrate. More pressure on it so it uses more of its energy while colonizing? Just an idea. Or maybe a super thick casing?

That seems like a pretty good idea, nube. I have a jam print that I was going to put to agar this weekend. I'm willing to give it a go if these genetics appear.

Nice! I have such a long road ahead. Only on my 1st transfer from starting spores on agar. Really pumped about these pans. Always love seeing your grows man. Love the tamp grows especially. Got a ton of them going right now.

thanks man and that's what's up I love the feel of tamps, a lil mellow but so easy going. you said your transferring on agar? just be careful isolating genetics that are not proven to fruit. I wasted lots of time and mats this way I isolated really strong healthy growth on agar but no matter what I did I could not get it to fruit. personally I recommend running ms first then isolating genetics off of a clone so u know it will fruit. im still working with ms I have some iso clones on agar now but it will be a few weeks before they are ready. I look forward to seeing what you come up with ! good luck bra

I appreciate the insights. I did put my tamps and atl#7 straight to grain with great results so far. Some of the agar I started them on is doing ok too.
Unfortunately I have a print of pan cyan, so I just started it on agar. I guess I could make a syringe and shoot up a few jars and pray! Lol
Really diggin the non-cube grows. You and stone sun are a great inspiration to me!

you can still go MS off off agar just hit ur dish then do a cleaning transfer then let the dish grow out and hit ur grain. you will save mat going to LI but also higher risk of giving every jar u hit bad juice. LC is even more finicky I stopped using it because it never lasted more than a few weeks and u find out its bad by getting a rack of contamed jars. its good you have a print over a syringe tho you will get way more inoculations. if I were u I would hit a few jars off of deishes then g2g to ramp up. and thanks man I appreciate it, growing saved my life I had about given up because my stomach is so messed up (I vomit a lot). growing is so therapeutic and im starting to socialize again (with yall) ive been kinda withdrawn last few years went down for a few years then had to do another year in rehab (H) and with all the time I had hanging over my head it was best I stay to myself to avoid trouble. so that's what I did I pressed my bunk and somehow made it out of the gauntlet. but it took its toll... afterwards being around ppl gives me anxiety. I trusted no one, and I just felt like everyone was so full of phoney bullshit! all ppl are worried about is what other ppl think who fucked who and what they have. I felt like all depth had been removed from the world everthing felt so superficial. but getting back into mycology and talking with yall has restored my faith in people a little bit, and given me a sense that I belong! I love my mush family! yall saved my life

Anyone got opinions on running Pans in a shoebox? Pan Bi if it matters. I learned that my tamps didn't want to open and should have a true monotub for better fae. Do i need to go out of my way for poly-fil with these to? Just went to grains other day so I got some time.

Making another attempt at pan cyan aussie after a few months hiatus (last attempt did not fruit)
These images show 2 plates with pan cyan aussie cultures, 7 days after being transferred. They are the 2nd transfer from a colonized plate that had been sitting in my fridge for about 6 months (I was surprised the culture was still alive!)
Do these look good to go? Or should I do another transfer?

Nice, just in a shoebox, in a monotub? Flipped lid on monotub?

I still spawned after taking out the mold...it's probably not the recommended procedure, but i didn't want to wait for more rye berries. My berries were too moist (maybe that's why I got mold). I've been boiling them for 20min. (after a 24hr soak) and recently learned that 10min. is more standard and then let them sit and dry some, so i'll try that next time.
If it had mold on it, then its all toast.

^^^^yeah there is no beating a contam once u see it kill it with fire! if u really want to get a print or something and ur a day away from it being ready you can use sum peroxide but I wouldn't risk it. best to toss any contam at first sight cuz if you compromise ur lab or grow room ur gonna have to gut it bare. even tho it only looks like a small section of mold it is already all throughout ur sub
