A lot of talk about wild setups with humidifiers and air pumps and all sorts of stuff - pretty cool and more power to those doing it, but a Martha setup and/or air pumps, humidifiers etc is certainly not necessary, especially those who are trying to grow pans for the first time and want to keep it simple. If cubes grow in your environment, pans most likely will too. Case them, give them plenty of FAE and temps between 60-80F seem to be totally fine. Here are a couple pics from my last few grows: a monotub and some simple seedling trays kept at room temp, with misting a couple times a day until pins and then a solid dunk between flushes was all that's necessary:

The regular monos started out fine but then I found myself doing so much with a needle and spray bottle that the humidifier just makes it easier maybe it’s just because it’s so dry right now I don’t know but my monos are definitely drying out faster this time of year

Sounds like it's a lot drier where you are. I stop misting and don't needle the casing once pins appear. It's usually pretty bone dry on top after the first flush and then I soak the whole thing and they're good to go again

maybe I just got nervous because I saw my tamps dry out and I did start loosing pans I suppose I could back off the fae but everything I read says its better to have more to really get the most out of em

I have to water with a syringe even with my bucket fogger because I've managed to dial things in where my evaporation rate is crazy fast. It's outpacing the fogger. I like to keep the casing pretty wet though.

Trops are cased, Hawaiians are spawned. Watch this space.
Got too many healthy plates. How do you guys find pans on agar store in the fridge? Thinking about wrapping them well, bagging them and putting them in an insulated lunchbox and in the fridge. Thoughts on how well this works if I want to pull out a culture and -> fresh dish -> LC in the future?
I've also read Blue Helix talking about a master LC. I'm guessing this is just like a regular LC kept in the fridge for storage?

My first time with pans. This is Jamaican 2nd transfers. Feels like cutting into marshmallows. This is the weirdest stuff. The mycelium grows so high it touched the top of the petri, this was in 7 days. Is this normal? Lol besides the obvious bad spots.

i wrap all my dishes in saran wrap in stacks of 4-6, once the dish is 75% colonized i will either use or move to the fridge (all dishes wrapped in plastic put in ziplock and go inn crisper drawer). still the dishes only keep a few months ive ordered some test tubes to make slants for long term storage but right now im using 1/2 pint jars just pour thick and once i can see the transfer has taken hold i move to fridge. i dont have the best luck with no pour agar work (always to much moisture) i get a lot of bacteria when i try but i only ever do it for this so oh well. storing agar can be aq pain! again i have to make copies of all my edible species because the dishes are about to expire.

This is exactly how I keep plates. I do a transfer every 4-5 months or so if I plan on keeping them.

so my modded tubs now seem to be holding their moisture even with the increased fae, still dealing with clusters (ima blame it on the ms lol) I think the new tubs will begion to fill out like the others did. here is the new tub coming up, right now the pins are localized around the polyfill however pins are beginning to come up in the middle.
then I got a few clusters ready to print

here is the first tub gotten a few decent harvests already although never all at once more of a continual flush
I also got some pics of my new tamp trays and the mod im going to put it in the official stone producers thread if ya wanna peep

Could this be a case of those fluffy pan jams that overlay too much? I haven't grown them myself but Asura can prob chime in.

Yeah those look like the bad jams to me.
Edit: I don't know how far back you have to go (November sometime) on this thread, but Blue Helix was able to fruit this stuff and pretty impressively too. But it looked like a lot of work.

Try to isolate your thin wispy growths leave the thick sections, I had this exact same prob with pan Hawaii. On agar I thought I had found the best pan culture in the world it would bulldoze through contaminants heat up a plate in a couple days I thought I had the best genetics but no matter what I did I couldn’t get one pin ! I just got thick overlay
