One is pinning beautifully, other two in various states of over lay. I think a larger container might suit a contained grow better for this strain. Will wait and see what they yield.

Dude, I feel your pain. That looks just like my last pan jams attempt. That overlay is brutal isn't it? Consistency of marshmallows....really weird stuff.

Quite, but despite the poor quality picture, the left one looks promising and I have a few more that are not as bad as the worst pictured...hopefully, the sum harvest of them all will be okay.

You should get pins where the casing hasn't been covered in the overlay. Good luck man!

It’s edible I think but no reason to eat any of it other than what’s attached to the bottom of a shroom, but if shrooms don’t grow out of it you probably won’t be eating any of it anyway.

First signs of life tonight in 2 of my bisporus plates finally got my first pan project underway.
Trying to decide if I want to do a mini mono or what. I DO NOT want to build a fruiting chamber or GH. Maybe someday.

Is there much information on bisporus vs cyan? I can't find much.

ok, well... i just put ten plates to ten jars of oats... i reckon i'll try several different fruiting approaches, assuming they all turn out... which is a bold assumption..

There's not very much info at all on bisporus. I got my print from 36fuckin5 so I checked out his grow. Mary also did bisporus. Seems like they don't fruit as heavy as cyans but require the same conditions.

You're going to have to start playing with your fruiting parameters...temperature, humidity and FAE. How are you attempting to fruit?

Depends on what information you’re looking for, there are many grow threads and a few historical find threads: The thread about bisporus found in WA by Frizzie https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15626432 And bisporus found in socal by Lipa https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8523126 Lipa has several other threads about other finds, cultivation, presence of sclerotia.
FWIW They’re the only pan species that I’ve gotten to fruit, albeit poorly, and that combined with their ability to fruit in Washington both make me think they’re a little less picky than cyanescens.

For what it's worth, I have been finding panaeolus cyanescens at the lowest temperatures I've ever seen, night temperature 45-48 farenheit, day temps of 60-68 farenheit. They have been large specimens too, about the size of a U.S. half dollar. They have also been in nice clusters of 5-10 mushrooms.
I have many years of experience looking for them and have never seen them in December here in the Florida panhandle. Has anyone else ever found them in this temperature range? My experience with wild panaeolus cyanescens has always been in the temperature range of 75-90 degrees Fahrenheit, never above or below. I'm curious to know what you have experienced. I would also like to know the Northern most latitude the have been found by a shroomery member, if anyone knows off hand.

That's pretty interesting, have you printed any of those lower temp fruits? I wonder if they could be a cold tolerant phenotype that would be more agreeable to >70F indoor grows
I think Frizzie's bisporus find in Spokane is the highest latitude (47N) recorded at least on this website, not sure about cyanescens.

Does anybody use like a plant heating pad to achieve 80 degree temps? Or is a space heater my best bet. I've got the heater right next to the FC to try to keep the room a more reasonable temp for humans but oof

I thought about it, but haven't tried it because I feel like it would just make the bottom of the sub hot instead of an even amount of heat. I put a towel under my tubs to give it some extra insulation. Ive found that I can keep the room at 75, but the inside of the tub will still be 78-80 since the towel helps the tub retain some of the heat it generates.

Blue Helix uses those heat lamp bulbs on a temp controller. I have a heater, but I like the idea of using those bulbs. During my last grow, my shitty heater kept tripping my willhi controller and shutting it off. I ended up just plugging the heater into the wall. The bulbs seem safer. I believe they were 40w bulbs.
