Yeah I think it's way better than the first and what's crazy is that's all in 4 days. Can't believe how fast the
flushes come in.

I see you are casing after substrate is colonised. I've got loads of overlay...four boxes where I cased straight away and now overlaid, one box where I haven't cased yet. I'll try and do a proper comparison of results.

I actually just spawned a few more shoeboxes of them over the last 2 days. One of them I cased at 48 hours and one I cased at 24 hours. I'm gonna see if that makes a difference. If my FAE was too low, could that cause a lot of overlay with these? Dont know why it would, but I thought I'd ask because I think I had my FAE too low for the first few days.

Beauties Asura!  How long did it take them to fruit after casing?

It took 5 days. Subsequent flushes come in ~12 hours or so.

Pan Bisporus plates are looking healthier every day!  Just did a test plate of the LC I made from the same print.  Hopefully it will be tam free as well and I can get a big batch going!  Thanks again @MaryFairchild for the trade :-)

Pan. Cyan Alabama plates starting to germinate.

And my 1 lb myco bag of Pan. Tropicalis has started to spawn!  Bit overwhelmed but stoked!

tl;dr: assuming germination succeeds, to what degree does spore age adversely affect outcome? i don't want to waste too much effort and resources on a hopeless project.

here we have pan cyan brazoria, germinated from a vial i made from a print (thanks, naum) around five years ago and kept in the fridge. spores on agar 11/18. one plate out of six germinated about two weeks later. four others showed only contaminant mold, the last has yet to do a thing.

all of these here are two transfers out. first four are angles of the same plate. fifth is a second plate, which looked much the same, after transfer number three.

this stuff is so thin, like barely visible, but grows incredibly fast. t3 made yesterday already shows 1/8" to 1/4" reach from the wedges. also, it smells sweet, like almond cookies. which is nice.

Q: does this thinness suggest i'm wasting my time using spores as old and weak as i am? does it work like that? also, note how the center goes from pink to clear, like the myc is eating the food color in the agar. is that typical? not all of those t2 plates exhibit this.

for reference, i found this foto in my pics, made from this same vial back then. note how much thicker it is.

much love, everyone.

Here's the tray one day after harvesting the 2nd flush. Already has pins all over it.

Please excuse the mess. Lots of small pins got whacked during the harvest. Just left them on the sub.

Those pan flushes come in hot one after each other. I can only imagine how many people can trip off 3 gigantic flushes.

Any noticeable difference other than potency?
