Very good, man!! Here is a Pan Bisporus clone that I somehow managed to clean up. This is ready for wedging. Its a terrible picture but the best i could get through the flat mason jars I use.

First flush on the left, second flush on the right. Crazy, like every pin came up exactly in the same place

. I spawned this mini tub 5 days ago. As of yesterday, it was bright cotton white mycelium. I accidentally left the tub sitting overnight positioned approx 3 ft under a 1500 lumen LED, and in the same room as a dehumidifier, and I come home to find it has bruised a bluish grey. I checked the sub in several places and it feels a bit dry. This is my first attempt. Should I case now? Knowledgeable help is definitely needed and appreciated.

If that's not mold, it's overlay. It looks fucked to me.

It went from pure white to what you see in 12 hours, if that helps a diagnosis. It smells good and healthy.

It is hard or spongy? That would be overlay and it's about impossible to recover from. If it has a cotton candy-like consistency you might be good. You can test with a q-tip.

I was told you can scratch overlay with a fork to get it to do right, I have never had to try it but if the situation presents itself I will.

I took a spoon and looked below the surface, still pure white . It looks much more blue in real life. It wasn't hard or rubbery feeling, but did give some resistance. This is a surface close up.

I'd be careful with misting. You do not want that getting matted down. I'm no expert but I've done it wrong enough to know that much.

I tested the surface, soft and cotton candy textured. Should I try to scratch it a bit and apply a casing layer?

The 2nd flush is really coming in. One thing that has been helping me is doing a full fresh air exchange several times a day. I think I'd be getting better results if I could automate that somehow, like once every 2 hours or so.

Hi, before i did Pan-cakes with birdseed inside and potting soil around but for last ones I tried a easier mixed sub: verm+potting soil, water+garden lime, a bit of brf, put in jars topped with 1cm of dry verm. PC 1hour.. central inoc with syringe in the polyfil filter. Colonisation between 10-30 day (depending genetics, ms or lc, temperature), open pull out dry verm and put water full jar for one night unmold the cake & direct to fruit.. it’s not a good yield tek but easy and lazy with some results for Pan observation.. (ok with cubes too) and without cooking hpoo or manure in your kitchen if you don’t live alone it’s more acceptable.. you can also break the colonised cakes in a pot or little trays with a thin casing to fruit.

Just spawned some pan bisporus to bulk. Decided for a thinner sub and larger surface area, put about 2.5 total quarts into a 16 at bootbox. About 1” thick, but I’ll add a casing layer after colonization and a little consolidation.
Anyone think that is too thin? Should I have split into 2 shoeboxes instead? I can also add some bulk ( 1 qt to 2 qt bulk atm) and remix when I get home tonight to give it a little more depth

There's so many comments on here, it's pretty much impossible to read through and find what i'm looking for, but i'm just trying to verify that my planned method should work with the pan cyan syringe that I have. I'm going to germinate them on Agar, then use wedges to inoculate grain jars with rye berries. Then spawn to CVG. Does this sound good, or should I include poo in there somewhere?
