Have you read anything about PDYA being faster? It may have only been once but I definitely saw somebody saying they got much faster growth on pdya vs mea.

nope never heard such things, i wouldn't care too much anyway pans are super aggressive and fast so time is never really an issue

Right on, gonna have a print in a few days I totally can't wait. Was gonna buy dextrose and go through the motions but I'm glad I don't have to. What substrate are you planning to fruit those in? Also I've never heard of that last species you have, have you grown them before? Are they potent?

there all supplomented jars of grain/manure/vermgypsum and will be fruited in the jars or possibly spawned but i'm trying to keep it very small scale i got no need for the fruits just need prints, fimicola is not very strong at almost just novelty

Do you fruit them in a greenhouse? Do you get any worthy yield from that? I'd like something really simple to start with them, get a couple of prints and trade them, I'd like to have a cool collection of exotics myself. I love the panaeolus spp., but I don't have a good hold of pasteurization just yet and I'm having trouble sourcing good materials for sub, could those be done in open air or maybe just placed into a mono and misted?

yep that's all i'll be doing is putting in a mono style and misting, they do ok in open air but need lots of attention

Is there a write up somewhere I can read for the way you do it? Don't want to bombard you with questions if there's a better way, but wouldn't even know how to word those things in the search bar.

Well then, at what ratio do you use for your jars? Do you inoculate with an agar wedge? Are they regular or wide mouth jars?
I'm sure I'll have more :p hopefully you don't mind I'm excited to see how that goes, it seems like a pretty easy way to grow pans.
I like the pan-cakes, but I don't have the ambition to build an sgfc, never did like pftek.

the jars are 70% grain 10% verm 15% manure 5% gypsum i'm running both wide mouth and regular some filled to fruit out of others half filled to fruit inside the jars also have masters made for g2g if needed, all wil be cased with peat/verm/lime/gypsum at 1/4 inch and fruited as it is applied

Thank you for being so down to help dude. What sort of grain do you use? I tried to tell from the pictures but failed. Pans essentially always need to be cased correct? Very thinly, but you can't skip that? I have very little experience with casing, I have some cactus mix that I used once with some perlite and verm maybe but that's not really ideal is it?

i use rye wbs wbr you name it i ain't picky about my grain choice with actives. Casing is indeed fairly important with pans but is a very easy process, apply it thinly and fruit as soon as it is aplied, cactus mix is fine as is anything just make sure the ph is good

since mycelium likes to lower the ph of its substrate over time (more acidic) like a silly goose.
I wonder if outdoor fungi have the same problem.
