I’ve just finished reading every page of this thread over the last week, except for pages 80-100 for some reason. Holy shit what a goldmine of info! I need 8 more posts before I can look at some of the most useful links , so here goes. I’ve a handful of cube grows (bulk mono tubs and pftek), but no experience with other species.
On July 4th I inoculated spores from a 5 month old pan cyan jam print to four basic PDA pasty plates in my SAB. On July 9th I inoculated three more plates from the print because I was worried that I fucked up the first three heh, but just a day or two ago 3/4 of the first batch began showing growth! Luckily my shitty untrained agar hand, using a plastic bendy innoc loop where I couldn’t feel or cut/melt agar easily, managed to be of benefit as it resulted in many germination points of myc to choose from on the plates.
Growth at every germ point and above surface appears to be healthy white fuzz balls, concentric with what I believe to be a larger ring of the same myc growing beneath the agar surface towards the potato flakes settled on the bottom of the plate. Kinda looked like bacteria at first, but upon closer examination with light, looks like myc of the same type. Once I transfer them to glass plates with better visibility and get those grown out a bit, I will try and take some pics for yall.

I got some great looking pan cambo spawn a few days away from being done. Looking forward to trying out some different fruiting ideas like trays in the tent and modded monos

I also have Bispora, Tropicalis, Cyan v. Goliath, Jamaica, Hawaii, Alabama and Florida on agar Figured the heat of the summer would be the best time for me to do pans without having to provide any heat. With the AC vent closed it hovers in the high 70’s - 80 during the day

Yeah man. I got all those germinated too except jamaica. I'll be starting a log for all of them once they're good enough for grain.
The bisporus is the log in my signature and it's mycelium is creeping along slowly. I think it's the temp as the grow room in my basement sits around 68°-72° tops. Gonna fruit them upstairs in a room with lots of sunlight around 78° and hope for the best.
I've even considered fruiting them in my garage that's anywhere from 85°-95°. Could get hotter some days as the temp reach the 100+

Fuck yea. This thread gets me hyped up more than any other.
Made some first transfers from pan cyan RDU print I collected from my last grow. Probably going to go with the same bulk sub and ratio this time but now with improved FAE and temperature control.

Here’s my pan Bis pancake that’s almost fully colonized. Unfortunately none of the other 6 germinated. Was the last of the spores too so really hoping this one goes good so I can get more. Since I only have this one, what do you guys think about fruiting it in a mini SGFC the size of a shoebox tub?

I spawned 6 big trays of pan jams yesterday. Hpoo, coir, verm, straw and gyp sub.
Trying a few new different things this time around so hopefully better results than last time.

Consider leaving your bis grow~10 days after it reaches 100%.
When I did a bisporus PF-tek grow the caps started to crack until I upped the humidity, but I did it in a GH. I think a monotub type setup would give you a higher humidity vs FAE. I've seen a beautiful bis grow in a monotub- courtesy of Peteyboy. A SGFC might give you lower humidity- but it should still work. Go for it!
So many exciting Pan grows in progress right now.
Asura- I'm drooling over your GH setup.

Hello guys. I have a question regarding Pans on agar. I have some agar plates with Panaeolus cambodginiensis and I want to know if it looks normal. I understand pans have tomentose mycelium, what I have isn't really rhizomorphic but close.
This dish is contaminated, so I just took the lid of for the picture.

I've been busy trying to up my cube game and get it rolling on a uniform level, but am planning on starting some pan cambos sometime in the near future
I've been looking for local poo sources and so far they all require you take a truckload, and won't even talk to you about smaller amounts.
Everything else is the composted poo that you don't want for this
If I cant find a good poo source, would it be better to use one of the bagged manure options from a store like Lowes, or better to use a poo-less sub?

Panaeolus MS (without manure) Don't know about store bought manure, I think some people use it with success. But you can have great success using straw instead of manure, according to the link above.

Thanks for that link, Dr. Freeman. I have been doing lots of reading but so far most people are using poo of some sort, and the only posts I've seen of people growing without poo have been pretty poor results. Not that I've seen all of them, I'm sure I haven't

You could try store bought manure on some trays and straw on others trays and compare. Right now I'm barely working my pans on agar, so all I can offer regarding substrate is other people's experience. I think there is a thread out there on Black Kow and Pans.
Post edit: Found it: Black kow will work for pans.

I'm kinda scared to mess with straw just because I've seen so much bad stuff posted from using it.. but I'll try it if that's the best bet for non-poo
I think I've seen the black kow thread, I'll look again. I know I read some store bought bagged manure posts, and they didn't seem very good
