Doubt it
I've had this on multiple dried up plates, I germinated it a few years ago. I never could get that print to germ again so I just scraped dried up myc from this old plate. We'll see what happens. It looks suspect, but its worth a shot I figure. Really want to grow bisp.
I have a wild Panaeolus cinctulus clone grow in the works

I just got back into it a couple weeks ago as well...I hit the ground running though lol...10 AA+ jars, 17 jars of PE, 5 jars of APE...and 15 varieties of exotics and woodlovers on agar...
I swiped a Bisporous and a goliath print but nothing has germinated yet...Just received some new fresh prints and will be trying again with these...But I have a bunch of Bisporous LC in the fridge I have to test out as well...Either way I will be getting the Bisporous back in action!
Ahhh its good to be back! I'll be following your work my friend!

Looks like your sub- went anaerobic- i've had that happen a number of times- but only with pasteurized subs. I'm sure it was because it was too wet.
Thats a problem I have with spawn to bulk grows where u pasteurize the sub. I find it hard to get an optimum moisture content without it going anaerobic- that nasty rotten egg smell. That does not happen with a sterilized sub- ie. a direct inoculation grow path.
When my shrooms go black its always because they got wet. If the shrooms appear shiny- they are too wet- your are on the verge of losing them.
I'll keep that in mind, I've yet to have one get rotten egg smell. Those subs pictures were freshly opened after colonizing so they were quite moist water dripped everywhere off the lid from condensation. The fruit I lost was sprayed with a bottle and I half did it on purpose to see, I didn't think a half mature pin would turn black and die from the smallest spritz but it did.
I put those two in the GH uncased bc I didn't want to prep a casing. A day or two went by and I cased one of them ans another one or two I put in.
Im going to keep one uncased and just see how it does in a wet GH.
I'm also going to try unpasteurized casing, 100% coir, I don't think that should present problems. Would save a ton of effort.

Mary do you pasteurize your casings or subs? Sounds like you've at least tried non pasteurized, if you don't regularly run non pasteurized.
I just went and checked GH and one of the new shoeboxes has white trich all over top. I pulled it, you can see some grains in the bottom are sporulation green so it came in with spawn again.
I caught one jar that was bacterial but let a few trich jars slip through apparently.
Making some real noob mistakes here lately It's double disheartening when I think of pasteurizing more casing and taking apart SAB to innoc inside and all that Sighhhhhhhhh

Hi Canharo- nice to hear from you again, Its good to hear your perfecting your aseptic technique. Its a kind steep learning curve but not a very long one.
Definitely keep in touch regarding your progress.

The timeline is worth mentioning of my trich appearance, I opened the shoebox to an amazing magical smell that they need to make incense of, surface looks level and tight all the glisteny webs of myc have those dotted beads of condensation looked good no metabolite pools.
Sprinkled on with bare dirty hands (dumb) the 100% coir I'd prepped with "3hour not working out for me steam bath pasteurization" method.
Next day maybe 12-15 hours later the whole top from center outward maybe 70% of the casing was covered with superwhite.
I left the house doing a bunch of errands I'm pretty sure the jars dropped below temp too much. Though I seem to remember a green shade thru the bottom of the tub. I'll double check today. It's possible I failed on both fronts and now it's a a compounded failure actually I don't doubt that I'm amazing like that
If I'm cooking half a day which I love to do when I have time I can add heat every 30 minutes or whatever and it works great. But this is a major PITA as a SOP.
I have one shoebox uncased in my GH now and I'm going to start microwaving some casings now I always wanted to Lipas bag Tek the casing or bucket Tek it but that won't work on small amounts. (Thanks for the tip Mary Fairchild!)
I like experimenting

Spawning my sketchy "bisporus" tonight. Pasteurized a mix of hpoo coir and verm. Well see what happens. If I get one printable fruit I'll consider it a success. Then I go for a proper grow after that.

Bisporus on horse poo and malt agar. Nice. Does horse poo makes a big difference on agar?

This is my first attempt honestly. I few weeks ago I heard of some guys having a difficult time germinating pan spores, and I believe Mary advised them to try using hpoo tea as their water source for agar.
I didn't use a special amount of hpoo. Maybe a 1/4 cup for 500ml. Strained out the poo, and made my agar with that water as normal.
All my bisporus, and all my tropicalis germinated in 3 days.

Hi GoldMold & Shomann- Best Wishes for your grows.
Here's a small scale grow that I was paying no attention to for ~ the last month- I wanted to wrap up my grows for the summer. I had some of these Pan cy Hawaii's and I was about to throw them out but they keep pumping out primordia so I put them in the SGFC and kept them moist- so its 2.5 months later and I have these ratty looking shrooms:

I feel sorry for neglecting them cus they're being so nice to me by continually producing. Well I see no more primordia so I'll harvest these and conclude.

Damn mary those look wild! So are you just casing grains with them? I thought I read that someone was doing that wasn't sure if it was you or not though.

No, This is a slightly altered PF tek kind of grow. I have an overview of the grow setup here:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25230274
The whole grow is not real detailed in that post- but the sub recipe is in there. I've decided I'm not really into that format -in those mini rounds- it takes a long time to colonize- but it worked good enough. I actually liked my Bis grow in the half pint mason jars better.
If you want more details let me know.
