Pins!

This is a cup I had a little leftover sub from my trays, I cased it and threw it inside the GH bc waste not.

I've had to move out five of my pan trays one by one because of trich showing up in the casing. Think I'll cut into one to try and figure out if it came in with the spawn or if it's from having a wet casing being blown on in a GH, I dunno. My first time with casings even this cup looks a little yellow but it's fruiting.

Thanks for the knowledge everyone! I hope to share some success soon! Good luck!

Congrats on the pins. Those cups can take a long time to colonize.
What recipe did you use for the case?

Well the only thing I had at the time was this soil substitute I was making for Cannabis so it's like a 3coir :1 soil with perlite in it. SMH lol perlite has made it necessary to squint at all the trays to see what's really going on.

Sub type is a mixture a lil of each tray type, a little 100% coir mixed with varying cpoo and coir recipes so it's probably like 90/10 coir cpoo cased with dumb idea

I pasteurized the casing for three hours in a steam bath but I'm not sure how well that worked out for me.

Edit - subs were loaded in quarts and pasteurized same way.

Spring time grows
I’m finishing up my grows for this winter /spring.
Am currently waiting for some Pan cy Aussies to fruit. When they are done i’ll have the fun task of cleaning out the greenhouse. Monotubs sure do look easier!

The Hobbit mushrooms:
These are Pan cambo Sandose from an old print.
Agar->LI-> Horse/BRF/verm/worm castings sub in mini rounds:

I grew these ~2 years ago from the same print and I got the same thing.  Very short, stout mushrooms. I didn’t even try to get prints but in hindsight I wish I had. Would prints from these also only produce mutants?

Pan cy Hawaiian (Thanks VL) From agar selections.
These were well behaved mycelia on agar. LI’s to a Horse/BRF/verm/wormcastings sub. in mini rounds. A nice second flush is on the way.
Printing these now.

Pan cinctulus(subalteatus)(Thanks again VL and Doc)
Again mini rounds with the same sub as above. Let it colonize 40 days.

Look at that cool mycelial artery in the 2nd pic.
I think i’m losing them right now- Growth is arrested, the caps aren’t opening. Maybe too much humidity in the GH? They are in the SGFC now.
This is my first time with these. I'd really like to get a print from this grow cuz I have some ideas i'd like to try next winter.
Any ideas anyone?

Pan cy Australian- No agar work: Print-> LC-> sterilized sub-> trays. A 2nd tray just started pinning.

Well behaved,  2nd flush was better than the first. Plenty of nice prints. I may do a write up on these.

NOT Pans but- these Gymnopilus luteofolius- keep producing shrooms almost two months after fruiting started:

Simple protocol- slow, but worked well. Not a lot all at once but they keep producing. Heavy spore drop, plenty of nice rusty looking prints.

Wow what an array of beauties! Today's a good day for this thread!

The pins I posted earlier we're my first pan pins ever (pan cyan mietkong Vietnam) and when I went to check on them this afternoon I noticed a few trays had pins that didn't have any this morning

These are a 25cpoo/50coir/25verm sub

And this one is a 75coir/25cpoo

....it's exciting

Damn, Mary, loving these. Especially the Gyms. I would like to try them myself, but I want to get my hands on the species G. purpuratus because it seems more worthwhile.

Some nice stuff here.
This morning I inoculated 6 pf type rye cakes with a tiny bit of leftover coir/manure sub mixed in (2% appx) with the pan trop syringe I made yesterday. As I said above, it's ascot ten years old and it failed on agar, but I'm hoping that the overnight hydration will have helped.
Also trying two liquid cultures just to cover all bases and will have another crack at agar with the hydrated spores.
I can't tell you how desperate I am I get a pan trop grow going...always held them in high regard, but have never been able to grow them.
If this fails I'll run the same experiment with the pan cyan Jamaica print I have....again, all or bust, will just use the whole print in the syringes as I have this time just to increase my chances.

I think I am going to redo again and try to link to every post that I referenced. A lot of lost context, but
I think the gist of it comes through.

Just did this pretty much as notes for me. My pan spawn is just about grown out, so it's time
to put up or shut up I guess.

Awesome. Those crimson pans are beautiful. Look like they're dipped in caramel.

My pan grow is officially a success as I've got prints out of it... and they're red

I've loved watching these grow. This second flush rolled in almost overnight.

Ones in the SGFC get a lot more FAE and are short and fat

That is sick! Did the red spore fruits originate from a black spore print?
Those SGFC fruits are short and fat indeed, love the look

Yea they did which is why I was surprised. Got a bunch of red prints out of this grow and have not seen any black ones yet.

Congrats! what a nice season work!! Very beautiful...

I had same result with Pan "Sandoz" strange dwarf specimen..

Yes i think your cinctulus would like less humidity to finish fruiting well.

Gymnopilus and your Pan "Hawaii"&"Australian" are really nice!!

What else could they be? The dude who grew then can be the only one who would be able to test this...I'm not even sure what tests you could do...

I don't know enough to have an opinion either way, I think thats neat though, I've never seen spore prints go red....

...but I've seen my stuff go all green!!!

I think that's the worst green I've ever seen lol, I removed the plastic grocery bag that was covering it and I about jumped back lol

I may have pulled one or two fkr overlay instead of trich actually, but they have trich now, lol... never give up people!

Good luck to yall, have a great day everyone

Peteyboy- regarding potency of the cambos- I tried em and couldn't tell because I lost all awareness- passed out or fell asleep- woke up hours later. I ended up missing almost the whole trip.
Thats been happening to me lately on low and high doses of cubes as well as Pans.
Regardless, i'll be taking a long hiatus from tripping to reset.
