Cope Aus mycelium all recovering from being shook.

Just wanted to drop by, and report that after 10 times of shaking Cope mycelium that all 10 attempts were successful, so it's safe to shake Cope mycelium. One thing to note is that I was as gentle as I could be shaking these jars, and PF material.

Hi, Just an update on my second attempt at growing actives (wild Copelandia). My first attempt was a failure but I think I was a little impatient and prematurely discarded the substrates. I emptied them into the vegie garden and the third picture shows what happened. Thats straw out of the chicken coop. They flushed three times, outside humidity was around 60% but I think it was much higher under the chilli bushes and straw in the garden. The tray flushed 4 or 5 times. I tried them (first time in 40 years roughly), took 9.2 grams wet. Was pretty full on and a bit uncomfortable at times. Got lots of nausea and the body buzz was a bit hard to handle. I don't think I knew what to expect. Will be better next time I'm sure. Thanks heaps to everyone on Shroomery for helping me with this success, couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks for that. Sub-tropical Australia, its late Autumn here. I have some very good prints from the wild ones I found and I also managed a clone on agar from one of them (damn hard to clone cleanly, only 1 of 7 petrie dishes made it, too small to get unexposed mycellium). I've only ever cloned oysters and shitake (much bigger mushrooms) and only ever grown oysters before. Next time i'd try RR's advice and soak in 10% bleach to try and reduce the contams.
I found these at Christmas after sort of looking since 2012. I'm too much of a wus to jump fences and I guess I respect people's private property so trespassing was not an option for me and I don't want to draw any attention. I was really looking for cubes because I thought there's no way I was going to grow these first off. Never did find any cubes ;(.
I was so jealous of those of you who can safely buy all sorts of spores. We don't have that here, we do have a forum with a trading thread where people swap various spores, but I never had anything to trade and I never felt comfortable with the idea. I found these in a place where there are no fences (just a couple of cattle grates in the road) and the cows shit all over the road and beside it.
I bought RR's "Lets grow Mushrooms" videos in 2012 and learnt most stuff from there, the rest I learnt here and a few other places . I don't want to bore anyone with my advice, there are much more skillful cultivators here, but I'm happy to answer any questions.
One thing I will say though, I've never grown a cube, never done a PFTek and only done a handful of straight straw oyster logs, so if I can do these I think anyone can. Seriously! I downloaded the thread with all of RR's posts and read them ALL, more than once. There is some seriously good stuff in there. I also greatly admired the persistence and tenacity of BlueHelix, his honestly and systematic approach, but there are many others on here of equal merit. Good luck.

The sequence. 1. Clone on agar (MEA). Later transferred to more petrie dishes for inoculation stock. 2. Wheat grain inoculated 3. Wheat almost completely colonised 4. Substrate completely colonised. 5. Substrate cased.

Well, not with that attitude.
Nice work, Numina.
Hope to join you in getting a few Copelandia outdoor beds going this year.

Numina, thanks for document your grow with those select photos.
5. Your casing. Do you case that thinly or is that photo a few days after casing?
I'm asking because my grows go well up to casing, I cover 100% with pasteurized Jiffy Mix maybe 1/8 inch but then it turns to shit and I don't get fruiting.
