Someone shared this a couple months ago. I think it may have been VL. An interesting method of cultivation for sure, but obviously successful
I shared it awhile back when I was trying to tell y'all about trying to mix manure with the agar for better culturing. I think it's so funny each time he nods to the camera.
Next someone should try bee pollen in your agar...my tropicalis loved it.

I have a 6 year old trop print that doesn't want to start on md agar. Cyan takes right off every time. Do you guys think my trop print (if that is what it is) is no good or have any tips?

Make some really soft agar. This can help out some times, as the extra moisture helps hydrate the. Option 2 is to make a spore syringe and let it set for a week to hydrate the spores. You can also use rubber bands on the syringe to "force" hydrate them.

Your going to LOVE wheat brother! It seems like mycelium is able to colonize it much easier than oats.

Yeah, I never gave it a proper evaluation but have the prep dialed now and figured I'd try it out on the bisporus as it has such fine myc.

My 1st round I left a bit wet, and it never tamed out like oats do for me. I would love to use ONLY wheat, but well right now I cant. I figure wheat masters to oats should be speedy. I have also figured out a better way to prep oats also. I found killing the heat at 185 seems to do a better job of hydrating and not bursting the grains. Also I will be using the oats in bags and PC'n for 4 hours, so that should get most the endospores, but not guaranteed.

Sorry your cat passed on. I have one that's 14.5 years old, and I know it will be hard for me when he passes. He ahs been there for me when others were not.
Also nice shrooms.

If its not from spliffs and you tesr off the burnt bit i don't mind a nice generation blunt/joint. You PC oats for 4hrs? Seems excessive. Is it that much more effective than just 3hrs?

The splitting could be a rapid growth genetic mutation.
I think you're right.
This mutation happened in multiple different shoeboxes. I managed to get 3 nice dark prints. Could I send you one to see if it happens to you too?

I would be down to receive one of your prints, brother, but it's not likely that the mutation will be passed along through spores.

It is for bags of oats. I have problems with oats so I PC the fuck out of them. I got a bag of wheat and it was much nicer than my oats I had been getting.

Winter is hitting quick and hard here, temps in my room are dropping under 50 f and all growth is slowing to a halt. But my first attempt at pans is going well nonetheless. Thanks again hamloaf for the print I've got a clean LC and good looking growth on heaps of grain jars...now I just need to get myself a heater so things can take off again.
