At 75 my pans were slow to colonize, raise the temp up 10 degrees and they took off, very fast colonization at warmer temps.

Yes sir,
I've noticed my pans tht were grown in colder temps are more potent than the ones grown in 78-80°F

I'll have to try and do some at cooler temps, trying out my first batch tonight to see how they came out, looking forward to an excellent night with lots of visuals hopefully.

Well shoot, I guess I missed that. Time to turn up the space heater! I like that this species is picky enough to point out the finer mistakes in ones setup
Interesting about cold fruited pans mr fox! I'd been interested in cold fruiting cubensis and this seems to confirm the alleged benefits. I saw people (i think even RR) claim that cold results in denser fruits. Some said more potent too.
One cool thing people said was that cold fruited fruits were easier to clone, due to the stem having more matter in it.

I concur with those claims. My fruits have always been denser than the 'typical' pan. I could see that stemming from colder temps.. Prob has alot to do with the composition of the bulk substrate aswell.

yeah dude, I didn't even think pans could get that thick! I kept wondering if they were actually the right species but nope, you just keep it real apparently.

My pan cyan spores have grown out a bit. The jar was inoculated on the 16th and the mycelium has been this size for the past three days.

My guess is that the agar was cooked for too long (45 min) and it dried out quickly, making it hard for the mycelium to spread across the plate. I'm whipping up some new agar plates right now and I'm only gonna PC for 20 minutes this time.
I'll be doing some transfers tomorrow morning!

Hello! the strangest thing happened: 2 weeks ago I put 4 sterilized jars on hold to inoculate mycelium growing on agar. I didn´t inoculate any of them, but today I saw mycelium growing in one of the jars. How could this happen? sterilization was for 1 hour and 20´. Is this Panaeolus?

That's insane!
It doesn't look like Panaeolus mycelia to me..

Probably mold. Mold shouldn't survive an houre at 20 PSI. Since the growth appears to have started at the top of your jar. My guess is it got in through your filter. What type if filter do you use?

I use polyfill filter and aluminum foil on the top.
