They are definitely a finicky species, not as forgiving as most when it comes to environmental fluctuations, They want it just right.
Mary Fairchild, you have a knack for paneaolous cultivation unlike anyone else I've seen. Your grow logs are pure gold.

Thanks for bumping brother. I hate my wild pan growth on plain GWA or MEA. They are now colonizing nicely on 50/50 grain: manure spawn. I even saw difference adding manure chunks to agar.
Ive neeeded that. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24941144#24941144
Just incase some brothers diggin it. Love manure tea idea like GW I will use this agar for future pans for less sediments

Great grow Hamloaf!- IDK but maybe your Ausi's are close to wild type- especially after seeing Pacmans post. Are you thinking of making a clone of one of these, it may improve the numbers?
Germs-the grows in your signature are awesome- the pic of your last grow looks like Jam.

Thank you mary, I appreciate that from you. I like your grow logs as well, definitely taken some notes. I have a few panaeolus species in the works at the moment. Can’t wait to share with y’all

I know paneaolous does really well on agar made from chicken poo, I will give it go with the chicken poo and coir, then try a coir casing. I dont see why it wouldn't work.

So are pan cyans generally small, or do they vary like cubes?

Thanks to everyone posting pics of Pan Bisporus. Not being one to ever do anything the easy way, I decided to pick these for my first attempt at growing any mushroom. I have two shoebox size totes of wbs with a bit of high nitrogen bat guano and powdered humic acid added. They are cased with a coco/verm mix and are fruiting now. I had thought they were not doing so well due to their tiny size, but after seeing the recent pics, things look closer to normal.
But to be sure, what is an average cap diameter for these?
I thought they were gonna be about 1" - 1 1/4"(25-32mm).. Seems 3/4"(19mm) is gettin on the big end for these..... Sorry for the noob question. Still learning out how to search/navigate/resize & post pics well here. I havent been able to see a good reference to scale in the pics.

Yeah they really like that recipe, I transferred to normal MEA after and they look different, not as dense. I will be putting my the T2's & T3's I'm about to transfer back on that HP MEA and will stick with it for my pans, I mean just look at how happy he is
