Usually around may they start showing up, cubes are more hearty than the pan cyanescens.

saw this quote in fast freds media cookbook just now and thought i'd share
"Oatmeal Flake Agar
75 g Oatmeal flakes 20-25 g Agar 1 L water
Stir for 5-10 minutes then filter out the larger particles by pouring it through some mesh, save the broth. [Then add the agar]
This is the best medium for Panaeolus cyanescens I've ever encountered. Beware, this medium will be less firm than the other recipes so extra agar has to be added to compensate. [22]"

I might have to give it a try, None of my pan cyan jamacia are able to germinate on Grain water agar (even though I got pan cyan goliath to germ...)
Thanks for looking out

except I got germ from my pan cyan jams.
Why would more agar be needed I'm curious.

Seems a lot of folks have trouble getting them on agar. Me included
thought it was odd it'd need more agar seeing as how oatmeal gets all gummy.

Copelandia do really well on a chicken poo agar (mea with poo), you can powder it or make an extract, either way they love it

What’s your recipe? For panaeolus I get the same speed of growth as cubensis when I use about 3g LME to 10g agar instead of 10:10

In this particular case it's just pre-mixed MEA from (quality vendor). 16g/400ml.
I'm going to start playing with some new recipes soon.

Also got decent growth, albeit slow, on MEA. 8g ME + 10g agar per 500ml. Slow as in twice as long to fill a plate as cubes.

Exactly what I am seeing Shroomerymancer and I have a lot of different plates going on.
I really don't mind per se....'cause I suck at growing pans
So the longer I put it off, the more I can educate myself.

Hi Doc, Whats your chicken poo recipe? Its much richer than Horse poo. I think I can get chicken poo fertilizer from the local gardening supply store.

Dude, this is exactly why I havn't looked for a better agar recipe. It gives me time to get my game plan worked out for a successful fruiting! I'm about a week away from my first two quarts finishing tho, so I better figure out what the sub is going to be! Any suggestions?
