Got five 1/2 pint wide mouth jars half full of fully colonized grass seed. It's Panaeolus Bisporus. Could I just case with coir, and some peat moss then throw it in the GH, or will it need manure?

Might work. Yield would be potentially better spawing to a manure based bulk substrate.

Thanks for the response. I'd like to get some manure, but seems like none of the stores around me have any.

They definitely like the poo, fruits are bigger and fuller flushes.
Edit: If you have an old coffee grinder, it works great for turning the poo to powder, all my mushrooms seem to prefer the ground up stuff.

Nice mush! I have yet to get any pan species to pin on agar. I am just using grai soak water (I have gypsum and coffee in mine) agar though. Maybe if I added a bit of manure to a few plates.
I'm thinking of doing up a few small trays or some poo cakes and trying to fruit those pans soon...

Use less nutes if you want your culture to pin on agar.

I got pan cambo to pin on cased agar plate. Standard 2:2:100 LEM recipe used here. Was a vigorous grower on agar. Cased with a mix of verm and perlite.

What is the reasoning behind this?
I haven’t run any clones but i noticed that a bunch of varieties I put on a nutrient poor agar (1/5 liquid volume was grain water; it was pretty clear) grew slowly and aren’t pinning at 100% colonization the way my normal plates do. This was all with cubes though, pans are another beast potentially.
I try to clone agar pins to get a “fruiting culture” of whatever variety/species I’m working on so being able to skip a mini grow of a pan to get a fruit to clone would be boss...
I haven’t had full plate colonization with pan cyan but full colonization with pan tropicalis and pan cinctulus failed to produce pins or knots even.

Once mycelium consumes nutes in agar culture is triggered to pin.

Ive tried adding horse poo to agar for the pans Jamaican and im having great success with it.
I normally use 12 grams premixed agar from fungi perfecti to 1 cup water I am now using 6 grams agar 6 grams powdered horse manure to one cup water
My pan Jamaican spores have germinated and are taking over about 40% of the agar dish in four days

I'd be really cool to see some "side by side" plates comparing different poo recipes.

Would anyone like a syringe of pan cambos? They are a year old but they are probably still good.

I have a really purty P. cyan clone on agar:

don't know what to do with it, guess i'll just do my standard STB style grow.
