How do these look to you? One week after mixing the Pan Tropical colonized on Oat groats.

Pasteurized Sub: 50-50 composted cow dung and coir + 5% gypsum and 10% Verm.
91 - 92% RH 72 - 74 F
When do I case?
I think I have cased my last run too soon and they did not pin.

Ok, had a print that's been kicking around my collection for 5+ years. I finally got off my ass a couple days ago and swabbed a few plates (did a few wavy caps too )
Will 50/50 Black Kow/CVG do the trick?

Speed, those substrates are looking good. in the picture it looks like there are some primordia and tiny pins forming in different areas. if that's the case i would say apply the casing layer now. in my experience, pan tropicalis will start pinning once it reaches full colonization so it's much less prone to casing overlay. as pins start to pop through the casing layer you can bring your RH down so it cycles between 60-80%. and make sure they get plenty of FAE. and in my opinion, you could even bring your temps up to around 80F. good luck with your fruiting, it's possible you could be pulling fruits in around 4 days.
Fungus Mountain, good luck with those old spores. and keep us updated on your results, i'll be curious to hear how it turns out. and black kow/CVG will work fine.

Hey guys!!! Speed, looking good.
So my last trays of Sandose and Jamaica did not fruit well. Managed to get a few pins off each to clone. Agar>Agar>LC. Trying two different methods. and here they are...
Almost ready to put in trays.

I have the casing material in the Betty Crocker as we speak. 140 - 160 F for 101 minutes. I will be ready to cast this evening.
Temp up to 79 f RH @ 88 will adjust further.
Panarchist, you have a more trained eye then me...I only see mold. I hope it's good mold.

After Casing
I will case with 1/4" - 3/8th inch of Pasteurized Jiffy Mix which I added a slight amount of lime.
It's my understand I just put these cased trays back into my sealed Terrarium for a couple days and wait for the Mycelium and Hopefully Pins start poking through the casing. Then UP the FEA and turn the lights on.

Speed, there's always a possibility that pan mycelium can look alright and then suddenly succumb to infection but if those substrates smell good, kind of like button mushrooms but with some earthy notes, you should be good to go. and the fact they colonized that quickly is a good sign. and i wouldn't bother putting them into a terrarium, it will be better to introduce them into your fruiting environment so they get accustomed to those conditions. once they get into this phase things should progress quickly. and keep them exposed to light. if they're kept in darkness it can throw off their biological clocks.
Primal Call, congrats on the fruiting. my first harvest didn't yield alot either but it was still cool to finally hold some in my hand.

I just cased the Pan Tropicals. They smell like Mushrooms! I know; I pick maitake in the wild.
Temps going up and lights on 12 hrs a day.
I have them in the same Terrarium but could put them in a Mono Tub i have a couple.
My Lab report came back today;
Substrate pH of 5.9 Casing pH of 7...so I added a slight amount of lime...5 teaspoons to the gallon. I added 8 teaspoon to the gallon of Jiffy mix before it went to the lab.

Looking forward to seeing 99.99’s horizontal bags and Mycolorado’s GH grow. Lots of great and different ideas going on lately. Think I’m gonna start looking for cambo and tropicalis prints, seems like everyone’s got those

FYI I cut off some of the Mycelium that was growing up and over the sides of the trays and to my surprise it had the same texture as mushrooms, a little rubbery and smelled just like fresh mushrooms.

Potency in mushrooms is weird..it varies from fruit to fruit flush to flush rven id different parts of the fruit itself there is no solid answer there

I thought about taking a taste but did not. Now I'm kicking myself.
