It's good to hear from you Panarchist.
We had a good time when Bobbi and I visited Naples and then Clearwater in Oct. I was happy to not see any Structural damage just a lot debris from trees.
I hope these trays colonize. I switched from Wheat Berries to Oat Berries/groats and when I prepped them they were real sticky, loads of starch. I rinsed them several times but still rather stuck together. The wedges of Pan Agar sure liked them. They colonized way quicker than on wheat but I had to man handle them to break up the colonized grain when I put it to the Sub. Next time only soak the oats for maybe 1 hour or two...not 10 hours like the Wheat Berries.
I have 2 trays in a Terrarium I made way back and never used. There is a digital RH probe in it to measure and with the bubbler and air I can maintain RH.

Also spawned to that shoe box # 6
Waiting not so patiently.

sounds like you're on track. it takes a little trial and error to get a feel for things but at a certain point it all comes together. hopefully, soon the panaeolus mushroom spirit consciousness will be sending some blessings your way.

99.99 said: Im doing pan tropicals in a different way thats really making a difference
Pan tropicals new mix 1 full cup water 1 full cup wheat One premade handful verm/coir mix one handful Manure
PC all together for two hours
Cut up two plates colonized agar, very fine for each small sized grow bag, then mix like crazy and lay bags on their side to get maximum growth surface
DONT TOUCH BAGS UNTILL They're ready for fruiting, and fruit like normal in your choice of fruiting chambers.
I dont thinks pans like to be harassed while they are trying to colonize so mixing up the colonized grain in the manure is counterproductive and all my (cake) style bags are ready for their fruiting chamber in around 7 to 8 days
Looks like an interesting way to scale up a pancake style grow. Putting the bags on their side increases the surface area to volume allowing faster colonization. Nice innovation 99!
Thanks marry I would have given up if it weren't for you so thank you very much
Six more grow bags of pan tropicals done, im on day two and ive got some great growth

99, it looks like you're on to something.
Did you hydrate the Wheat before bagging?
How about One premade handful verm/coir mix one handful Manure.
Or does that one Cup of water take care of it with the proportions you are using?

I use the CVG for coir GVG The CVG recipe is: 1 Brick (650grams) coco coir 2 quarts fine-medium vermiculite 1 cup garden or horticulture gypsum 4-4.5 quarts water
Then one cup water is all the extra water i add and that's for the wheat at the time of PCing/ no fancy grain prep is done
The manue i use is prebaged from lowes

Cook it all together after mixing in individual bags with binder clips
The bags i use 50 QTY Small Size 4 x 3 x 18 Spawn / Myco Bags Mushroom Cultivation Grow kit bag https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302001240674

Thanks 99, I just did some transfers of Pan Tropical and Pan Hawaiian (Copelandia) on to agar and when they ripen I'm going to try this. I have the same bags and an Autoclave that can handle them.
I use Eco Earth Loose Coconut Fiber...will bring it, the CVG up to field capacity.
I also have some buckets of Good Shit; 2 year old composted cow dung from a organic beaf farmer.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I can take it from here.

Make sure the cow manue its at field capacity also I think alot of why this works so well is everything breaks down in the PC and none of the nutrients are lost, very easy for the young mycelium to digest it

99 I'm going to follow your Tek to the T. Prepping the grain can be a little messy and now that the cold has descended on Chicago it's an indoor activity. Mt wife doesn't like finding grain kernels behind the cookie jar.

yeah, it sounds like prints are the best way to go. i want to start working them myself. i'd gotten lucky with the syringes i'd gotten until i got one back in october that was so heavily infected with mold that i could not get anything good to come from it. been very frustrating. i think this is a big reason growers have trouble with this process.

First Pan pins

They look a little dry to you all?
I'm surprised how small they are too... is just a few inches tall and less than an inch on the caps typical?

pan cambo lme lc

its funny the last syringe i got germinated only twice and both times the cultures crapped out. followed by months and months of bacteria or straight up mold. i used the syringe up just shooting into a pf pucks. nothing.
got fresh printed spores and they germinated asap and super clean fresh off the germ plate.

Sub is coir, verm , gypsum, and about 15% composted cow manure. I'm not sure I like the manure. (EB Stone.)
I mixed 2 qts of the sub with the grain, saved a little for topping off the grain.
Once colonized, it was cased with 50/50+. That became pretty colonized, so I re-cased with hydrated verm. 2 days later it pinned.
Maybe the second flush will be bigger after a little bottom watering?
