there are sections of the site where it gets discussed along with other things but i don't think there's a specific subforum for it. from what i hear the DMT/nexus forum is the best place to learn about that.

yeah, DMT is nice but it doesn't last very long and you have to work with a lot of noxious chemicals to make it. i don't know if it's the same for other pans but for me the effects of fresh pan tropicalis are very similar to DMT but they last much longer so i ain't even about to bother.

Cyb's Max Ion Tek works well. Warming up naptha is the only smelly part. Lye and salt + some glass equipment is about it.

What is a good ratio for spawn to substrate?
Have popcorn with wicked pan cyan mycelium about 60% and looking to do my substrate tomorrow.

Using cow manure - vermiculite - gypsum
70 - 30 - 5% of total volume added to mix

Cheers
Gammin

1:1 to 1:4 is fine

so after 5 transfers i put to grain again, 2 out of the three jars have small trich spots after a week..ne one have ne input? keep transfering im assuming? will the trich go away tho..or am i doin somethin else wrong.. is less more wen it comes to pan should i only do like a small wedge cut up?

Where is the trich? Is it right around your agar? This could come from technique at dropping the wedge

Thanks

I also have some more spawn about ready to  experiment on some other kind of substrate

And just because I want to see what they look like I'm trying my hand at some albino penis envy

Right on mate  I have a mini mono going with a coir/verm/manure sub, had another one with the same recipe sub but it started to smell due to being overly wet I believe

Excited to see your results!

I need some encouragement. This jars 12 days from noc from agar plate.
The fully colonized side is pretty wet pressing against the glass wet,
none pooling at the bottom. Shake? =/

I have shook all of my jars and I am very happy with the results... although they were at 20-30%. A good reason for you to shake right now though would be redistribution of moisture I feel. Typically with a jar that far along I feel it would be pointless to shake though unless it stalled

Still expanding my Pan collection. As of today, 28 quarts. Whole oats + RGS from fluffy poocake starters. Ones from the 6th/7th are beginning to look strong. (P. Cyan Hawaii + P Tropicalis

Noob here. The following growth is all I have to show for my pan cyan syringe. Only 1 of 10 jars showed growth. Also was unable to get any growth on agar.

I first saw growth a week ago. Since then, it has only grown to about the size of a dime. It is moving extremely slow.

Temperatures have been in the 70-72 range. Is this warm enough?

I'm not sure how to proceed. Should I give it more time and be patient even if it appears to have stalled?

Should I try putting some of the few colonized grains on agar and growing back out?

Last time I tried germinating Pans on agar I got germination on 1 in 16 inoculation points.
So it pays to try to inoculate as many spots as you can.
Like myself maybe you don't want to waste 20 petris to get germination so I used 4 plates and placed
4 drops of spore solution to every plate. And got germination in one spot on one plate.

Start with prints instead of syringes. Syringes are best for PF tek.
