Was curious about this because I have seen it on two plates and in three jars, two of that are about to be spawned

What is a good ratio for spawn to substrate? Have popcorn with wicked pan cyan mycelium about 60% and looking to do my substrate tomorrow.
Using cow manure - vermiculite - gypsum 70 - 30 - 5% of total volume added to mix
Cheers Gammin

Where is the trich? Is it right around your agar? This could come from technique at dropping the wedge

Oats. I got a 40 lb bag at a local farm store for 12 bucks. Midwest USA. It’s for horses. Get whole oats not rolled. It seems to do better than wild bird seed. Here’s the tek.

while i would agree the statement that pan mycelium can hide infection really well from my own experience and what i see from others i would refute the notion that it requires 12 transfers to get it clean. it can be done in three but you really need to identify the good growth on your inoculation plates and then hit up your transfers quickly to make it happen. and sometimes you're better off just starting over than trying to clean up heavily infected mycelium. the most common mistake i see growers make in this process is letting their plates get overgrown thereby negating any progress they made so make those transfers as soon as the good growth reveals itself.

What is the best way to start panaelous with a spore syringe? I have access to an industrial size steamer that can hit temps of 250 degrees plus, so i was gonna use that for the pressure cooker. Would you suggest oats or grains? Very excited to see these. Thanks for all the help
