hamloaf said: An agar wedge to brf would colonize painfully slow, but if you're going to do that, go with, the grain jar lid setup with no verm barrier. One of the major keys to Macmadrins success was the 85-90F temp range for fruiting. Pans like it warm.
Shea's says 70-75 ive also read some more saying in the 70s is perfect
Check macdermins fruiting temperatures again. In my neck of the woods wild pans explode in the mid to upper 80s after a hard rain, so do more research and think for yourself.

Should I have a fruting chamber with partial lid off and a fan near by? or bad idea? also i was gonna pick up my manure today I have no way of leeching, so I was wondering If i had to leech dehyrdated manure or can I just pasturize as is? also do you guys soak your grains such as rye berries in refined coffee waterr overnight? or coffee grains much for pans?

Macmerdin makes a slurry syringe from agar. Also, I’m making 10 of his cakes from a ms vendor syringe and it’s working incredibly well. Pan jam and pan cam 6 days in...

I am having better growth directly Inoculating into these from the multi spore syringe than I am on wild bird seed or rye. I guess pans absolutely love poo

I would agree 100%. My mass pasty plates from 3 cyan varieties, cambodgeniensis and tropicalis did jack. After waiting almost 2 weeks, I did 250ml jars half full of hpoo, verm, rgs, gypsum with a dash of perlite. Already seeing some growth in 3/14 jars at day 3.
Going to work on some LI or LC later for bulk sub bags

Nice cakes! I just spent the day preparing and innoculating some pan-cakes of my own in 9 half pint jars with a cpoo/brf/verm sub.

Those are looking good. I am going to start my own next week. Thank you for posting all of this info. This will be my first attempt for pan. Cyanescens.

You know... I’m honestly liking these containers more than jars. Initially it freaked me out to pc them but they are working great

That sounds like a crazy long PC run.
Not sure about pure poo either, texture is quite important in order to get proper aeration for the myc

Honestly, that was my plan all along. But I have had 1 success on agar from 30+ plates of LME and grass seed soak.
Half my poo blend jars have now germinated within 5d. The few that were more rgs heavy aren't showing yet. Best seems to be:
1.5 hpoo 1.0 verm 0.5 rgs (soaked) 0.25 gypsum 0.25 perlite
Kept nice and fluffy.
I may look at xferring some little myc balls to agar today from the top of the jars that have germinated.

Getting these spores to actually germinate on plates. Was starting to think they got irradiated over the border lol

My long-term plan is to get a nice clean culture and then go LC for sterile 8L bags with a similar blend for bulk.
Wondering if I should keep em flat and 2" deep so I have the right dimensions to xfer to sterilite tub for fruiting without damaging the spawn.

I normally have been too... but there's a ton of logs saying how fast Pans do in that medium. If I was staying strictly with jars like I do cubes, I probably wouldn't touch LC
