I couldn't find rye again but I did find wheat and oats. I've heard others using those grains for cubensis. Would they work well for pan cyans? I bought some of both and below are some pics.

Oats worked for me, but the Pan cambo seemed to grow slower on them than it did on agar.

I would like to talk Shit?
I've been trying (x3) to grow Pans on a Cow Dung mixture and it the spawned wheat berries fail to pin. I pasteurize the substrate and then the casing of Jiffy Mix. My last go around I made sure to collect and use well aged Cow Pies, the kind you can throw like a Frisbee.
I was told the other day that I can't use shit from Dairy Cows. Have you ever heard of that.

Dairy works just like any other pie but must still be aged as dairy farms consist of lots of cows in a small space so lots of amonia in the manure...if it colonized it worked and you have other issues at play

This Pan bi is starting to look great. I love it when a culture digs in and cracks the agar!

Wbs or rye? From what I hear, trays are the way to go. Sub depth of 1.5 inches, 1/4 inch casing

either of those methods will work fine. i like minitubs because then i don't have to deal with using an SGFC.

.5g dried pan cyan has me feeling pretty damn good. More than I expected for sure
On another note I got pins in another shoebox today, and have a few pint sized containers of sub fully colonized to fruit like cakes. Planning on finally getting into playing with poop and hitting up a horse stable or ranch tomorrow for some field aged nugs. We’ll see if I get anything good

I'm just using poo and some moss that got raked up with it . No casing. They just grow. Inside in a tub at about 25°
