Interesting update, one of those Rye jars I shook yesterday ... because why not? Now I have wispy mycelium growing evenly throughout the jar. It appears that it recovered good. Do you guys think that the colder temperature would have made the mycelium bunch up and be thicker? I did accidentally let my room get up to about 90 yesterday and I could notice a lot of growth in all of my jars, but mostly my pans. Now it’s around 85.

I have a couple jars, with a straw based mix, colonizing now. I have a log in my journal. One is a pull pint and the other is a half pint in a pint jar. Also got 6LGT going on same mix. The pans are showing signs of bacteria, BUT cubes can fruit from bacterial cakes so we will see about pans. I am thinking about casing and fruiting the half full jar in the jar and spawning the full one as a cake. Not really sure yet. I need to take some pics today to update my log.

Sounds to me like a possible response to bacteria. Temps that high will cause bacteria grow crazy fast and expand at an exponential rate.
Pics if you can!!

I have one pan cyan pf tek jar. Original recipe. Figured why not. It’s growing but it’s slow compared to the wbs and rye. I figure it probably isn’t as airy.

This looks exactly as I’ve seen everyone else’s pan mycelium look. I’ll take a pic in a bit

I knocked mine up with some bacterial LC and they are colonizing fast. Fuck it I'm going to go get pics and update the log in my journal in a few.

I think your fine. Talking about the mycelium bunching up and being thicker made it sounds like it could have been encountering bacteria.

I had some almost 3 month old pan LC in a syringe in the back of a drawer I shot up two jars of oats last week one is looking decent the other isn’t doing anything. Was curious to see if the LC even worked, seems a bit more resilient than cube LC that’s left out at room temp for awile

I shook mine a couple days ago, mycelium coming back nicely. It takes about 2-3 days for mine to recover. This is my slowest jar noc’d 19 days ago w/ MS
Hers some 50/50 peat, verm cased all pan jam. Cased on different days
 Misting lightly and being patient

What should I do with this?? It took forever to colonize so I shook...came back with this spotty growth at top and pretty much uncolonized on bottom. Threw an agar wedge in on 9.5.17...dosent seem to be doing anything. Has a small stone tho. Pan Tropicalis on oats.

Yup, toss them. Even if it was healthy, and I don't think it is, that is way too slow.

Bacterial, no?
And what's up with the rocks? I'm guessing you get more pins around them?

The rocks are decorative and I’m just seeing if it does anything odd. More mycelium is colonizing the top very quickly. Faster than the other two pan jams. I feel my MS were of good genetics, well domesticated. Or is it a very thin, even casing? Might be the rocks? Haha Who knows it’s MS lol
The rock one was. Cased last..

Bacterial, what do you see? https://files.shroomery.org/files/17-42/834705675-image.jpg
I think I can see why you would think that but it’s in recovery and is wispy compared to cub myc. Here’s what it looks like today

I will keep an eye on it
