Well this is the 3rd transfer of of the clone from the first huge pinset

Looks amazing, how do you case and about how long does it take to see pins from spawning?
I case with jiffy mix as soon as it's fully colonized and put into fruiting Normally takes a week for pins
Love it thanks man

It has been 5 and 6 days since I cased these tubs of Pan Cyan Hawaiian with 1/8 - 1/4" of pasteurized Jiffy Mix.

Here they are before casing.

Do they look OK to you?

hey, Speed. i don't see any signs of infection so that's good but it looks like the mycelium is consuming the casing layer which isn't good. usually this leads to a big reduction in yields but if it doesn't gets too bad it's still possible you could gets some fruits. i haven't seen a proven method for dealing with it after it occurs but some growers believe that giving your a substrate a consolidation period after it reaches full colonization can reduce the likelihood that it will occur.

What else can I get Pan Cyan spores to germinate to? Inoculated 6 plates, 3 different Agar recipes and no signs yet after 7 days. I understand it is still a little early to call it, but since two plates are overtaken by bacteria I would rather get started on another project while I wait for the other plates.
I think I saw some post where someone inoculated a thin layer of BRF in a 1/2 pint, but was it regular BRF cake mix? I have WBS as well should I use those instead? thanks

IF you have a syringe you can try a few drops to some WBS, then if germination occurs move a colonized piece to agar, well do a couple pieces to a couple plates and then clean those up.

Ok, I will put WBS in three 1/2 pints and put 3 drops in each! Thanks

Good to see you Panarchist. OK so I have gotten the pasteurization of the substrate down, that is what messed me up in the past.
I will let my next tubs of substrate colonize a lot longer before I case them. I have three more tubs that I am modifying and eight quarts of spawn in a cooler waiting. I leave for Naples in one week and my plan is to spawn them just before I leave so they can colonize during the week that I am gone.
I hope I get some harvest of this tub before I leave.

Really strange growth going on, mushrooms don't want to mature as you can tell from my last couple posts Now I'm getting lots of the Klumps like this photo that basically stalled after four days I think my problem has been the horse manure, its been really hard to break up without leaving clumps that are hard for the mycelium to colonize I'm hoping my recent change over to Cow manure will fix this The cow manure ive been getting looks like soil and has no smell it's already been pasteurized before it was bagged

As some of you know I have had quite a bit of trouble germinating spores from a syringe. After that I had to clean op dirty myc. Finally I have a plate of cleaned up Pan Cyan myc that looks promising. So I am posting a pic. It's very thick healthy looking myc if you ask me. How does it look? I will be very happy if for the fist time (with this pan cyan myc) I can make a few transfers and they will all turn out to be clean...

Shroomway, it looks like you may have a clean culture there but there's a certain aspect of the picture i'm having trouble understanding. there's an uneven area around the center of the growth that has a web-like appearance to it. it could just be condensation on the lid of the plate or on the surface mycelium in which case it's not a problem but if it's not condensation it could be a sign of infection.

Glad you guy's think it's clean too . Gives me some courage! It's Pan Cyan Jamaica. First time it grows so nice and in an even circle..
Sharp eye Panarchist! It's condensation if you take a look at the pics on a big screen (laptop/desktop) you will be able to identify it as condensation..
btw: plates are poured with PDA made with manure water
Thanks guy's!

Um if that is the germination plate, then I lean towards that being mold.

congratulations, Shroomway. you made it through the the most difficult part of the process. keep up the good work.
Mateah, i agree with MadHatter. the location and morphology of the growth look similar to what you would expect from a mold colony. if it is it will probably sporulate in a day or two. you might get better results with your inoculations if you use MEA or PDA.

If it matters any, I actually inoculated four plates in a wide square formation near the edges. This germination actually is on the same place I placed the single drop. But then again mold could have laded in the same spot I Guess.
I have three 1/2 pint jars of 1 inch layer WBS in them. Sterilized, I prepared this if nothing germinated on the plates. I guess I will inoculate them tomorrow.
Was it bad putting four drops on every plate in a square formation near the edges? Where to put the drops on the WBS jars and how much?
