Looks very prolific! Well done indeed
Question: as I am having difficulties fruiting Pan Cyan I am trying all kinds of things. The result is that I am doing quite a bit of agar transfers. Will this eventually result in an isolated strain? Or at least less sub strains in my culture? And will this (one or the other) improve the quality of the culture in the sense that there will be less competition between sub strains during colonizing?
Btw: I understand that Pan Cyan isn't as rhizomorphic as cubes are and displays less sectoring... So its harder to visually select sub strains. I also understand that selecting a substrain doesn't mean it has favorable characteristics over the multispore you started with. It obviously depends on the genetics of the substrain you're talking about.
But will the agar transfers help? And does it help to alway's take the smallest myc transfer you can technically achieve?

What I've done is not normal, normally for cubes I do tons of agar transfers to get an isolate With this tropicals i dont think rhizomorphic agar is possible My agar is just multi spore and about one transfer. What I looked for it and my agar were actually pins and the ability of the mycelium to fruit, for some reson PDA agar worked best for the initial multi spore playes The 2nd transfers wear to MEA
You can see in this photo small dark spots that are pins, I just tried to propagate that

What did you use to tape the petri dishes? I love to hear that u used cling wrap, cause where I live paratape is more than $40 a small role.. .
My myc seem to stall after some time. All kinds of agar recipes I used.. Oats agar works best for me till now... I use cling wrap. I reckon that could be the reason for the myc to stall? I like to try your method for finding a favorable piece of myc. Would love to see a pin in my agar and be able to transfer it...
At what temp do you keep your plates? Thanks

I kinda do a pasty plate but not really My agar comes from fungi-perfecti premixed I add water blend it in a blender, pour into thease containers and pressure cook them for 45 minutes Biglots 3pcs 1.80

If i know their going to grain i just put them in ziplock bags while infront of flowhood just to keep them sterile and i use a full agar dish to my grain, i mix it up into little pcs and scoop intomy grain I keep my tubs and agar dishes at 80 degrees I don't wrap them with parafilm or saran wrap or anything they are good like they are
On the previous page there is the description of how I do my grain also

Hey there 99, could you share where you got your spores from? Did you start with a spore syringe from the Spore Works? I see they have Pan Tropicals.

Aborts water got driped on them from the lid yesterday when i looked at them Any water that gets on the pans aborts them and almost melts The mycelium, When this pan was done I purposely sprayed it to see what it would do

I put mine in small tubs and put them in a martha greenhouse with a cool mist humidifier That way they can get plenty of humid air with out getting wet
