it's fuzzy stumps that indicate lack of FAE not fuzz on a smelly sub

2nd attempt Update:

1 week 3 days into the Spawn Run.

I'm think my pasteurizing was a little short on time. I did 60 min. and I will take it to 100 minutes next time. Definitely had chemical smell to it similar to acetone.

I will also do a better job of monitoring RH in the FC. I did not monitor this one. Per my reading on this forum I had the vents in the FC taped off during the colonizing period. I'm wondering if there was too much RH. There was always condensation present on sides and top of the FC.

I moved it to a new FC with plenty of FAE...a low spot in my back yard.

I even cased it.

Mixed my sub last week for some pan tropicals
This time im useing 50% horse manure 30% coir 20% vermiculite , i'm really hoping to case this weekend and get some pins soon after

How does this look for a week

So i got my 8 tubs of PAN TROPICALS cased with jiffy mix, last night and today my whole grow area smells so nice kinda like sweet almonds but mushroomy to

Kinda worried because all my past grows would stall and not fruit ,  but they were Jamaican and Hawaiian pans

Pan Cyan LC I'm about to test on agar
And my first round of straw bottles inoculated with Pan Cyan liquid inoculate

Typically with bottle substrates you let them colonize and consolidate a couple weeks. I'm still undecided if I should case them in the bottles to fruit or once they're colonized break the straw up into a thinner layer and case in some small trays.

I have a number of plates of Pan Cyan and Pan Bisporus  and this LC so I'm gunna try a few things with them, more straw bottles, some grain spawn spawned to straw, straw/rabbit dung etc

Id break them up pans prefer substrates of inch and a half

Ive never understod LC , i just do agar but chop up the whole plate very fine  and inoculate with that
Then mix the grains up really well and I get 100% colonized without shaking again
Cubes and pans only take a week  to colonize 2 cups of grain

First run with pan cyan. Second pic looks like first but more round, just had condensation. Probably one more transfer and then I can put it to grains

I usually inoculate grain spawn with agar wedge + G2G. But these straw bottles don't do so well inoculated with wedge, because they are so tall, they often start pinning before full colonization. They need to be inoculated with liquids.

Plus i bet their really hard to mix up huh... I dint think of the problems with straw/ in that case maybe leave them just like they are
