Ah OK right on, that's what I thought
That's interesting about Pan Cambo being 2 spored sometimes, like Pan Bisporus, I've read they're almost identical

Does this Tub look OK to you?

It is one week into the Spawn Run of Panaeolus cyanescens Hawaiian on a Bovine Dung based Sub.
This is the first time I took the top off for a very brief moment and I did wear a surgical mask.
To early to case?

I don't like that thin fuzzy stuff at the bottom there. Doesn't match all the other mycelium. Should be concerned of things that do not look like the rest. My contaminated pan Cambo had fruits in 10 days. What was your spawn ratios?

My spawn ratio was 2:1, one part spawned wheat berries to two parts of substrate. Layered the spawned grain on top of 1 - 1/2 inch of sub. then covered with another 3/4 inch of substrate.
This particular Pan Cyan has been very slow to colonize on the grain.
I'm new at this; my first tub went to shit because I forgot to pasteurize the sub. This go around should be way better.
Question, Can I put a few quarts in the refrigerator for 2 weeks and then introduce it to a couple FCs.?
I have to be away from home for one week and need to delay things.

You can put a couple jars of spawn in the fridge. I would give them a day or 2 to warm up before spawning though. Keep an eye on that really fuzzy patch.

I will keep an eye on the fuzzys. From a couple pics I looked at of colonized Pans that fuzzy may be mycelium. I don't know.

Pans do look fuzzy, but that I think, is a bit to fuzzy. It is for sure different from the rest of the mycelium that has popped up.

First of all, That link is 14 years old... that's outdated. his cold shock may have stressed the sub out just enough to get it to push out as much fruit as possible. but I doubt it. even so, I'm sure that guy put them in the fridge at full sub colonization, not before spawning. pans are from the jungle where it only gets as low is 60* (if that) cold shock is for shiitake

So it's outdated and 14 years old what does that matter he still put them in the fridge and they survived that's my point No cold shock does nothing to induce pinning on pans

Pans grow in places that sometimes get colder than 60f, just not below freezing.
