there is if you have a small apartment. When you try to pee in the middle of the night and trip over tubs injuring yourself. if you get injured from your hobby(unless its mma or fighting/sports) then its an addiction and you should seek help.
im a little guilty of that...
also if your tub to bed ratio is a little high. you may be single in the near future.

Clothes are overrated when you can wrap yourself in a warm psychedelic blanket instead

Man I want a salvia plant, but don't have the funds to shell out $60 for a rooted cutting.

Are these two jars considered to be 100% colonized and ready for planting or do I wait longer?

It's been 20 Days since I transferred wedges from agar to the grain jars.

They are way over due, mine take roughly 7 days to fully colonized

One more think,
Do I just mix the spawned grain into the substrate with a sterilized spoon?
I did read that no grain should be showing on the surface, cover with a little sub.
Or what is it with the Layering that RR talks about?

Yeah. I just shook 2 jars that were 8 days since wedge dropped. 20 days is a long time. Have they been shook yet?

I shook after 8 days. This Pan Cyanescens "Hawaiian" is not setting any speed records as far as I can tell. But this is my first time so no personal experience to compare to.

Speed Racer, if it took that long for your grains to colonize it could be a sign that the mycelium was still harboring some infection. at this point though you ain't got much to lose by proceeding as one normally would and just hope for the best. layering your spawn and substrate isn't necessary you can just mix them together. and leaving exposed grains on top shouldn't be a concern either as your monotub will be covered and exposure to some airborne contaminates is not a problem at this stage.

I did sterilize the CANNA Coco for 60 minuets at 270 deg and ended up layering the grain.

I covered the vent holes with eco-fi felt; two layers at the bottom and one at the top. I used Green Rabitt's Thermodynamic Analysis of Monotub Air Currents as a design cue without doing the math for the size of tub i'm using.
I did make a blunder in my haste to do this yesterday; I forgot to pasteurize my substrate.
I have more grain jars that are not fully colonized so I can do another tub in a week or so...or maybe I'll order another spore syringe and start over. I also did 10 more agar to agar transfers yesterday.
Right now I better get back to my Day Job.

Pan sandose

Pan Jam

Shook em all today, they'll be ready soon.
Found one jar of sandose that has a lot of clean growth, but a tiny bottom part was contammed with mold, so i'll be throwing that into a flower pot outside so that nature does its thang.

Nice I want to do some outdoors. I bet they get PHAT.
I've got Cambo, bisporus, cyan on agar rn. Gunna do one more transfer probably then throw them on grain.

there's a good chance it could lead to infection but nothing is absolute so just keep an eye on it and maybe it will pull through. if it does get infected you still could pull some fruits off it but don't keep it in your main grow area.
