If you'd like to get the most out the sfd trace a nickel or quarter as many times a you can per disk and then cut each circle out. Take those and rtv silicone them on to each of your grain jar lids with the 1/4 inch hole on top, so the filter is covering the hole. Just a tip to get the most out of your sfd's

have fun cutting those fuckers. it pisses me off, cut across the surface not on the rim, you'll end up separating the layers

I just ordered a dozen from one of the site vendors. Right under $16 which includes shipping. Defiantly a great investment if you plan on doing a bunch of grain prep.

Panaeolus Cyanescens Australia. From mushpunks. Transferred to grain, and a few agar plates. Also, against my better judgement. LC was inoculated. All this was two days ago.

Aggressive culture. Running fast.

Ham, gt40. best results with your projects.
d0urd3n, from what i've heard it's pretty hard to obtain an RDU print. maybe if you have something really special to offer in trade some older growers might be able to come up with one though.

Yeah I've been asking around and looking ever since for a couple years. Someone needs to grow it out and spread some prints around instead of holding it hostage.

So my same old problem ive fought has resurfaced ...OVERLAY Only thing I can figure is that I let my pans consolidate one week versus last time I grew them which was a two week consolidation any thoughts if this will fruit or should I try and re-case it I'd like to know what your suggestions are to do with this it was cased with jiffy mix

sorry to hear about that, 99.99. i still haven't seen anyone come up with a proven method for solving this problem. some of things i've seen suggested have included scouring the surface of the substrate with a fork or even cutting off the blobs entirely but i haven't seen any evidence that they will make much difference. if i were dealing with this situation i would be curious to flip the substrate over and try to fruit from the mycelium on the bottom which has not been affected by the overlay on top. and have you considered trying to fruit without a casing layer. i know this goes against conventional wisdom but one thing i have noticed is that although fruiting without a casing layer will lead to significant reduction in yield it will at least be better than the final yield from a substrate that has been cased and then gone into overlay. another thing to consider is to look into growing pan tropicalis instead of pan cyan. certain aspects of my own experience and other information that i have been coming across seems to suggest that they are not as prone to some of the fruiting-related issues that pan cyan and pan cambo can exhibit.

Well i was going to flip that sub over but i noticed 2 little pins starting so ill let it be

The other thing ive noticed is greenish and blueish spots in the mycelium that only appear before fruiting starts / the green isnt trich i noticed it on my last sub i fruited two

This is the first tub i did and you can notice almost center of the photo is a weird green looking mycelium that turned out to be a nice little cluster
