Thank you =)
By the way Pan Peeps... A certain vendor who's name starts with and S is having a sale on Pan Syringes for the month of May - $13 down from $23
That is a pretty solid savings if you ask me. I would buy some if I were not already busy with two pan varieties as it is. Then again... with Eat's comments about the Pan Trop high, I may just have to get a pan trop syringe.
Happy Mothers Day all you Mush Mothers...

So i made up some dark chocolate candies with ground up pan Jamaicans , i know these suckers are extremely potent I put .8 of a gram in each one last week and put them in the freezer for later use Anyways I ate one dark chocolates last night and tripped the hardest I've ever tripped I couldn't believe the hallucinations that I was having the visuals were so extreme, way stronger than even penis envy which I've been growing for the last two years
What im wondering do dark chocolates enhance mushrooms

Yeah a little I think from the MAOI, but I mean I think .8 is decently hefty dose.

Siick dude! Im a little behind on this than you, had a death in the FAM so I ending up storing the germination plates in the fridge. I made one transfer on them, growths about half dollar size but the plates look real clean
They're on PastyPlates so I cant really get a good photo until I get them in front of the hood I think I'm inoculating grain real soon tho!

I'm sorry, man. You are a little ahead of me on this then actually. I am pouring the plates tonight to make a T2 tomorrow. The remainder of the culture will inoculate sterilized, supplemented whole oats. If the T2's come up clean, LC will be inoculated with leading edge transfers. The remainder of the culture will inoculate supplemented sterilized whole oats.

For those who have tried both Cambo and trops, any noticible difference in effects?
Also I can't seem to find what the equivalent of 3.5 grams of cubensis would be for Cambos?
Thanks

Hope you feel better funky!
I'd say start at 1 gram that should be plenty close to where you want to be. You could go 1.2 to be sue if you dont mind increasing the intensity a bit...

1 gram blew my mind haha. I'm just wondering the conparison to cubensis since I've only ate them a few times.

Speed Racer is getting anxious. I'm soaking Wheat berries as we speak.
These are my first mycelium on PDA to PDA transfers.

I think A>F, B>G, F>H look good to inoculate some jars with.
I'm thinking of inoculating quart jars with a wedge from these plates.
Or should I do a LI made from A>F? Put some sterile water in it and suck up the mycelium liquid with a syringe?
What do you guys think?

congrats, Speed Racer. it looks like you got some nice growth to work with there. i would agree with your plan and just add if you have another clean looking plate take some transfers off it to keep the growth going so you have more to work with. and i can't say what the most effective method of inoculation is but i would suggest trying them all. some people are wild about Blenderless Liquid Inoculate other's say they get decent results just transferring wedges. i just recently got what i think may be a couple of clean cultures of pan tropicalis mycelium and will be doing some inoculations to grain tomorrow. i plan on transferring wedges from one plate and i'm considering trying that sterilized water>colonized plate LI/slurry tek on another but i may wait and see how well the wedge transfers do because if they look good i may just stick with that for now.

Thanks Panarchist. I have more PDA plates ordered and should see them in a few days and will transfer to them to keep the strain going.
I'll drop some wedges in jars and may suck up some liquid/mycelium in a syringe and inoculate some jars with it as well.
What do you use for a filter on jars?
I have some 3M microspore tape and have read 3 layers over the holes in the lid work.
Polyester felt from a Fabric Store? or Tyvek coveralls from Home Depot? I have both within a couple miles from home...and the tape on my shelf.
I'll look into filter discs for next time.

micropore tape is the best thing to use as a filter aside from sfds IMO don't ruin coveralls get a tyvec envelope, just don't get it wet or don't use it at all

For grain jars, this is incorrect. Micropore tape will need to be double reinforced with good Tyvek. Envelope tyvek is the worst choice due to it's varying pore size. Some envelopes make it through the sterilization cycle. Some don't.
Cover all tyvek is second best but will need to be changed every other sterilization cycle, because the intense heat of the sterilization cycle begins to close up the microfibers. Medical grade tyvek is best. It can be ran through the sterilizer over and over, but it will need to be double reinforced with micropore tape, also.
The synthetic pillow stuffing is a great choice for grian jar filtering material. Drill you a quarter inch hole in the center of your lid, and cram it full of synthetic pillow stuffing. Be sure to cover your lids in foil for both of the aforementioned methods of grain jar filtering during the sterilization cycle.
The best bet is to get the SFD's. They will last a lifetime. If you live in the U.S., for about 20 dollars you could have a pack of 10, 70mm (small mouthed) filter disks delivered to your door in 3 business days.
