Hello, was on the nats board and explained why I was trying to grow them and someone pointed me to panaeolus cyanescens. I looked on my preferred vendor site and they have multiple strains. Is it like cubes where it doesn't matter which...just go for the name you like?
(Mushrooms have saved a loved ones life but he needs huge doses of cubes. The person said they have friends in same situation and pans have worked for them)
In a nutshell, does the strain matter?

From what I hear TTBVI is the king.
On that note, I hate to send you to another forum but Semps (P. Subtropicalis) may be a better fit. Almost as potent as pans but don't require manure to grow so perhaps easier for new grower.

In my experience, it matters which strain to choose, and every mushroom is different. I personally feel a significant difference between different cubensis, and smaller but significant differences between Panaeolus. I mean, effects, intensity, visuals, insights, dark or brighter side of the spectrum, and healing potential.
I think it has to do with personal sensitivity and perception, different substances in different shrooms and different ratios of them. Since everyone is different, you should answer this question for yourself after trying it.
I have a giveaway ongoing now (view link in my signature, there you can see how it looks), I have few prints last, so I can send you a print of Panaeolus Tropicalis. They are one of the most beginner-friendly pans I ever encountered, and I love their healing effect. It's very kind, peaceful and smooth shroom, and has helped me to a better life. One of my most favorite Panaeolus.
Send me a PM with adress and I will send you a print.

That is kind of you and I appreciate your answer. I am not comfortable giving my address to someone I don't know from the Internet as tempting as it is. But thank you

Not sending your address is understandable but youβll also find weβre a little different in this community π also Iβve traded many times with Bra and heβs a solid guy. But always do what makes you feel comfortable!
Also, you could use a friends address as well!

I used to feel paranoid about giving out address as well. These days though if they want to bust you they can most likely get enough info from your searches to know who does and doesn't grow stuff.
Also most places spores are actually legal

They probably don't even want to be busting anybody for this shit anymore given you're just a hobbyist. If, however, somebody drops a dime on you, they're compelled to take action.

Nice photo! Are you setting the container on black felt, then curving the felt up behind?
Yes, that's exactly how I do it, I'm using four Godox mf12 macro flash units which I really enjoy π
