Any more input on whether I'm growing mold or mushrooms?

Pan. Bisporus. Jars smelled very mushroomy during S2B.
FAE currently restricted on the bottom holes, top holes are 50% open.

Progression photos:

Day1                                                        Day5                                                          Day7

Should I toss it? Case? LITFA?

Its weird how the myc doesnt look like its coming off the grains themselves

It did on Day1, after that - yeah, however it dosen't look like the whispy myc if fighting the one near the grains. Hence all the confusion. The side view also seems Like not much is going on - a few white spots, some condensation (weird how there's condensation forming on the tub walls UNDER the surface of the substrate).

Some more info - the substrate ratio is 1.5 mycoquarts of spawn (mostly millet with about 1/2 teaspoon of cpmposted manure and some chopped straw) to a total of 4 quarts mix of Coir + 20-25% sieved composted cow manure (no manure smell even when hydrated, kinda looks like very dark powdery soil with sticks in it). The substrate was pasteurized for 1.5 hrs with the timer starting when the core reached 50C, the max temperature the core reached during the pasteurization was 69-70C.
Right after casing the tub smelled of coir as it does when I make cubes. Currently there is no noticeable smell. I usually don't notice a mushroomy scent from cube tubs until I get a bunch of pins first.

So, should I even bother with it or toss it?

Idk if I'm the person to be diagnosing anything here, but that tub looks ok to me.  Its mostly blurry once I try to enlarge your pics but to me, if it were my tub, I'd be preparing to case it in a few days.  At the very least, don't toss it yet and get a little casing ready.

What he said those look fine to me. Bisporus can be weird where it looks like nothing is growing from the side until a couple weeks down the line when they start making thick mycelia’s “veins” and whiten up a bit. I’d case and chill.

Thanks for the reassurance. Should I case these now or wait another week for it to consolidate?
And should I start introducing FAE already or only after casing them first?

I introduce fae from spawn so you’d be fine to introduce now. As far as casing where you’re at is about when I case mine. I tend to case either right at full colonization to even slightly before full colonization. I don’t personally think waiting for consolidation before casing matters. But to each their own more than one way to skin a cat. Do what feels right to you man.

Here are 2 more images in higher resolution, not sure how the forum handles images over 512KB though (the picture upload page says that it's the maximum size).

It compressed larger images in a very lossy way. I prefer compressing them myself in Lightroom to under 512 kB, seems like I get a better result.

After a couple of tubs which struggled with a contam RDU is gifting me a nice flush for Christmas.

Uncased and fruited at spawn. Tallest fruits are 10 inch 4 inch (lol 10 cm). Not the biggest but pretty to look at and it seems I will get some prints of it.

First pins in the unmodified tub which was left to colonize and consolidate before fruiting. Leaving for the Christmas do today which means a good mist and then it will be LTFA for the next days.

Bisporus is still chilling but I hope the earlier spawned tubs will start pinning by the time I am back.

Happy Holidays :sun:

@baba, looks like those are treating you well now! They have never gotten huge for me so that size is to be expected in my experience, at first I thought they were big when I hadn’t grown any others but after comparing them to others I was like dang these are dainty! But nice work they look happy!

Cheers and sorry Roscoe, I meant 4 inch or 10 cm....

Cheers kirkeng for reaffirming that these are on the smaller side, will have to comb through older posts trying to get some imagery from older RDU grows.

Growing super fast estero pan cyan in wide mouth 1 pint jars, anybody can do this (very bottom of page 3): https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/28108398/fpart/3

Really impressed with the 1 pint wide mouth jars full of substrate (several 1/2 cup scoops), day 2 shows the ten jars almost 1/3rd grown out after adding only 1 to 1.25" inch of grown out pan cyan estero mycelium grown out grain, and shaking well. You can tell the mycelium really loves the pre-pasteurized mix of horse dung, coir, wheat straw, minerals, spring water mix that was sterilized for 1 hour at 15 psi in the 10 jars.

There is already puffy white snow like mycelium covering the surface of the inside of the jars. After 3 more days of growth, will shake the jars well, and allow to recuperate, consolidate and grow out another 5 days. Then will be ready to case with a few mm of sterile casing, saturate casing with spray water bottle, and fruit within the martha tent in no time.

The wide mouth filter disk lids with 0.2 micron filter are really useful.

That looks similar to the TTBVI I grew. What looks wrong about it to you?

That's realy great news Pnin! I never growed pans before and the myc does look different from cubes, so im not experienced enough.

On my spore plate the growth kinda looked like mold to some folks on the thread so i was looking for opinions.

Thx for the input man!
