I would give 12 a go Hazy
Not unusual for my Pan plates to start as yours there did, some of your other transfers may work out in the end even though the MS plate looks a mess
EDIT: Pic tax Bispo before and after casing, which I forgot to sieve before pasteurization luckily Bispo is a force of nature and doesn't give a fuck about woody debris and such it seems

high hopes for this one, very aggressive so far

What's CBK?
“Common Body of Knowledge”
A world of difference in just 3 short days. First pic is when I spawned 3 days ago.

And now this. Pans grow mighty FAST! 1:2 ratio

Will case it in a couple days
Yeah certain Pan varieties rip through substrate in a matter of days. Always surprises me!

Ok, so I got trich again.. First fruits of this pan Hawaii:

This tray had pools of water on it as you see in my post below. I drained most of it off, cased it, and stuck it in a 32L tub with the lid cracked 10mm. I have a smaller tub of water in there to keep the moisture up. I misted every other day, and some fruits turned blue after misting.
At what point do you think the trich got in there? Any tips on how to avoid this? I let the tray colonize with foil over, no peeking during colonization. I spawned in the kitchen, cleaned surfaces and hands well, and I tried to limit the time the tray is in the open. Substrate and spawn was mixed in a new ziplock, only time I touched the sub was when leveling the surface.
Coir and manure were pasteurized in separate containers at 71C in a sous vide (6ish hours). The casing was pasteurized in a ziplock at 70C in my dehydrator.

This one looks ok, perhaps something iffy in the lower left corner. Nocced grain from SSLC.

This is probably not good. Nocced from agar.

Spawn was nocced up using the black plate:

Toss it?

Hi everyone!!
I'm brand new here. =]
Currently posting in the
"official Natalensis thread"
That's the species I'm working with at the moment.
Not a fan of cubes.
Anxiety, foggy mental difficult to think..
Body load.
Anyways...
So!
I asked over in that thread about hybrids, Was suggested to look at the strain threads, But they are all locked!
Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge with crossing Pans with Nats?
Would that mess up the effects of either one?
It seems like they are both similar?
No body load, mental clarity, visual, no anxiety...
Cubensis have super strong species like APE,
Would crossing Pans with Nats make something similar, but better??
The resilient and aggressive mycelium of natalensis, with the strength of Copelandia/Panaelous??
Didn't RR do a hybrid with pans way back?
Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post, or if it's just a silly post in general,
I am a total noob, brand new here, and hungry for knowledge and eager to learn!!

Oh! Almost forgot!
Can anyone suggest a reliable source for good pan/cope genetics??
Like name one of the sponsors/vendors listed here?
Or is that against the rules??
I've seen a couple venders selling MSS and or LC.
If they are listed here are they all equally reliable is what I'm asking.
Again please pardon any ignorance or silly questions!
Thanks!

Best genetics come from the Marketplace thread here, but will be a bit before you have access. Need 90 days and 50 posts before you get access.
Haven't used a vendor since my first purchase.

Panaeolus and Psilocybe are different genera and not likely going to cross. Intergeneric hybrids can happen but are rare.

So I've heard,
I read somewhere in a thread on here about RR having a successful cross with pans and a psilocybe , it's what gave me the idea.
It's probably a silly idea!
If it ain't broke don't fix it right??

yo, trying out pans for the first time. i’m assuming most of this plate is mold, but any chance that upper 12-2 o’clock section is pan myc? already took some transfers from all over the plate but that area is where i was placing my bets
Panaeolus Cinctulus is known for producing psedoscelrotia. I’m assuming that bluing you’re seeing is the start of that. When I ran cincs, they grew in the substrate like regular scelrotia from tamps or Mexicana but did not get nearly as big.

Accidently reached a high temperature of 185ish f for pasteurization. It went down to under 180 within 15 minutes - is this okay or should I redo?

First spawn run of Panaeolus Cyanscens and I noticed a strange smell to the mycelium as I was loading up in my flow hood. It is almost indescribable, like sweetish - even fruity?
I'm hoping it just has a peculiar smell and not a possible contamination.
However, I was not 100 percent happy with the grain but I just thought "fuck it".

What are the chances to get larger fruits from small cap prints? Are there any?
I got some ttbvi prints, which were somewhat half the size ttbvi is on avarage.
Now i was isolating these genetics and so far i only got really tiny mushies. No bigger then the size of prints. Although they are growing dense af.. These until now were all somewhat below 1cm cap diameter.
Should i proceed on isolating or am i stuck with some small genetics that way?
