Thanks for the explanations. It does sound similar to compost tea, but it's interesting to hear about the Korean version. I'm surprised I haven't heard about it sooner.

I have 4 pan jars I'm experimenting with. I used ecological worm fertilizer with no known exact content except for ph of 8 and how much to dilute to get a 'standard dose'. I'd say the jars are about 20% colonized.

I have three jars I want to spawn together. Two are just finishing up and one is seeming to take its time and might take another week. What to do? Can I just keep the two jars around a week longer, fully colonized?

Is that a water agar wedge in the middle?
I aks because you may have created a non-nutritive/nutritive edge if it is. Which is where both morels and mexi/tamps like to put sclerotia.

Nope. Just 1% LMA. Maybe 1.5%.

Not even planning on using these since I recently acquired ttbvi, but do these plates look ok? Pretty sure the GWA was a bit too strong but the growth looks better than on LMA and it doesnt seem to be stalling. These were transferred from the plate with the stones posted above.

On top of the substrate, should you put potting soil or black peat? Is straw mandatory or optional? Thank you.

Pasteurized peat and Vermiculite in a 50/50 ratio buffered with lime or hydrated lime is the standard.
The recipe is:
10 parts peat 10 part vermiculite
and either
1 part lime
or
1/4 part hydrated lime (same as pickling lime)
If you are new to this then sticking with the standard recipe is best as most people are familiar with this material and it is known to work very well.
Straw is not necessary at all but manure should be used. 20-30% manure is enough IME. The main thing is that you pasteurize the substrate and that you field capacity is on point.
How are you going to start your grow and what is your plan when it comes to fruiting?

I'm going to see if I inject spores in a syringe into the grain or buy a copelandia kit and mix it with the grain, manure....
What is the best cereal?

I would not recommend spore to grain, agar should really be used to clean up the spores before taking it to grain. Let agar become one of your best friends.

The only answer is Cheerios obviously. There's not a flavor you can't smother in extra honey and toss a banana in.......my pans seem fine with wbs.
