Some FL "Blue Springs" red spore that went prehistoric on me, and also a tray that is showing a yellow capped transparent fruit? Anyone able to shed any light here? See video.
The prehistoric ones had a biggest fruit of a respectable but not scale tilting, 4.86g.
However, AVERAGE fruit weight was a whopping 2.93 grams and probably 90% of the fruits were 3.5-4.5g! I have never had a pan cyan flush like that before for me.

Yellow fruit close up:

Can’t say I could tell you what’s happening but that guy is looking pretty cool if you ask me. Wonder if the gills will change in a day or two from spore deposit? Curious to see where that goes.

I'll definitely keep updating. And Im definitely going to wait for spores :fingers crossed: , but will most likely snake a clone as well just because the fruit is novel to me, haha. Part me thinks this one will not be a spore producer, but time will tell. Either way, I'll be keeping a watchful eye over the holidays.

Well, she somehow lost color it seems. Still no signs of spores, so I harvested her and sent a couple gill fragments to water agar. We will see what we see

So I was gift/traded some Bispos that are aggressive as hell. I haven't grown Pan's since RDU was new lol. What's your recommended cutting edge tek for them now a days? I thought I saw someone say they can be grown on coir with a peat casing, no manure. Thought I did. That'd be pretty sweet! To poo or not to poo? That is the question.

I’m curious as well. That’s interesting. Are you against using poo or just wanting to try something new?

Looking to try something new mostly. This culture is really aggressive compared to what I've seen in the past. I figured if it can be done, this is the one to do it with. Plus it's been like 15 years lol. I've been so caught up with other exotic species I've tended to neglect this one by not staying current.

The ttbvi I have is very aggressive as well. I have some spawn just about ready that I really don’t feel like running again lol. If it’s possible, I’ll play around and try that one without manure as well just for shits and giggles lol

I might try both. I'm likely going to need some manure for a few of the exotics I have coming up anyways. I guess I'm mostly just not up to a trip to the stables.

meanwhile, I can't get Bisporus to run well on grains. Adding manure to everything just to get it going.

I dont know how cutting edge it is, but Im a recently big fan of CVG+liquid ferts at bottle dosage levels but CVG+potassium/carbonate will get them there and happily as well. You can bucket tek the whole shebang. Only real downside Ive found is it's considerably cheaper to run manure. I do traditional 50/50 casings on them.
Also, I want aggro bispo All my bispo cultures are pretty chill honestly. Would love to snake some if it all pans out!
worthwhile edit: my yields are down about 10-15% on both those cvg methods, but I do think with the right elemental balance that would be a non issue. Just going to take some more dialing.

Yeah mine is so-so.. I think.
2.5 lbs Whole oats with dextrose and gypsum Inoculated 11-11 with 10cc LC

Also just started leaving the bags more tightly closed just the other day, unfortunately after this, to prevent the top grains from drying out.

I think I’ll have to adjust all my ratios when I revisit this. Trialing the FPJ amended coir and tubs have started pinning alongside some traditional manure subs. All I’ll say is they are growing in the FPJ coir but substantially less pins than manure subs. So far have two tubs of FPJ coir at 1:500 and 1:1000 dilution. I think next I’ll try 1:250 and 1:125 as not much difference between the 1:500 and 1:1000, suspect those ratios are much too high and not providing enough.
Comparisons: 1:500 pin set

1:1000 pin set

And the manure tubs

There’s still a chance the FPJ tubs catch up but I don’t think so, looking like the few mushrooms that do grow will be small and spindly. All these are same bisporus clone.

Second grow - just harvested and getting dried. TTBVI - H-manure / verm / straw / gypsum - in the grow tent with humidifier and all that. I'm getting back in action, haven't done anything since March, had to revive some TTBVI agar plates.
Last time I had some great canopies but mini TTBVI's (signature shots). This time around I wasn't that lucky, but still good crops. Wasn't as dense, but taller and bigger fruits.
I've put 1 glass tray, 2 plastic trays + 1 small plastic tray. All at the same time, but the glass tray was falling a bit behind the plastic trays. During the colonization and with the amount and density of the shrooms. I wonder why? Grain bag and substrate were the same in all trays.
All together 347g wet and I expect around 15-20g dry. These small TTBVIs really disappear into nothing after dried.
Colonized and cased.

I've seen primordia dots appearing already after 36h from starting fruiting conditions.
